I don't think anyone thinks Guenther is some great shakes. That said, LeBeau is not coming back to the Bengals. He was fired by the Brown family. Which is no easy task. Besides that, coming back to the Bengals from the Steelers is like moving from Beverly Hills to Detroit.

You guys might have some pretty short memories..... LeBeau rarely had good defense here. Even our super bowl year we had an average defense that happened to generate turnovers. All of his good defenses were in Pittsburgh.

Not to mention the fact that our personnel doesn't fit his style.

Lebeau's one of the greatest defensive minds in the history of the game, but he should retire at this point.

If the Bengals are looking for an upgrade at DC (doubt it) Jim Schwartz would be a good option as a 4-3 coach with ties to Marvin Lewis

Did Schwartz spend time on a staff with Ryan? I'd figure both of them were with Marvin at one point. Anyway, if that's the case I could see him sticking with Buffalo until a HC job comes along. Their D is awesome -- He knows he can easily put up another top 10 performance (maybe better) and continue to polish that resume.
