The fact that he wasn't that good in Tampa doesn't mean we don't miss him. He was our best defensive player last year.

I was being facetious.

I've been saying the same thing all year and everyone points me to PFF to tell me he stinks.

just like linebackers that play safety and water boys that play tight end, it's a thing here.

It hurt, but more so because they lacked the ability to rotate players like they have the past 2-3 years. Hunt was supposed to be at least good enough to help in the rotation, even if you didn't get the same production out of him.

You saw the effects in Gilberry having to play way more snaps, and his production dropped off. That was always the key to the DT/DE...rotations keeping everyone fresh. Something that didn't happen this year because of injuries (Atkins coming back, Peko missing games, Still having to start, Thompson missing games) or just general in-effectiveness (Hunt, Geathers) forcing more snaps on other players.

Exactly.... This is how our d-line became good. Even at the beginning of Zimmer's run we had serviceable guys like Fanene, Rucker, and Pat Sims. The problem is that the guys they drafted to fill those rolls -- Still, Hunt, Clark -- Haven't done anything. They're not good enough to be consistent rotation guys. This was masked last year because Johnson and Dunlap played a TON of snaps. This year Gilberry had to take a lot of those snaps and he wasn't as good.

Just get a big, massive, fat guy to put next to Atkins. I mean a guy that needs to be doubled every play. That would not only help in the run defense (LB's would be free), but it would allow more 1-1 with Atkins and the DE's.

Peko, for his size, just gets pushed back way too often, and usually just be 1 OL...The other team has OL at the second level before any LB can decide what the play is, or what is going on. Can Thompson be that guy? I don't know, but it wouldn't hurt to find some guy that's like 350lbs and just takes up space.

We're in the same division with Big Ben, Flacco, and a developing Manziel.

we need more of a fix to the DL than just 1 guy.

The first two are no-brainers that you have to worry about. This kid is not a worry. With no rush, this defense handled him. He's going to be out of Cleveland in another year if he keeps talking about taking more responsibility and then turning around and having parties, or getting out to clubs and having drinks poured on him in altercations.

The kid is a screw-up. Honestly, it's amazing he's not a Bengal.

It's really too soon to tell. He could be the next Steve Young, or John Elway, or he could fall apart on drugs.
his immaturity may be his undoing, but getting bitch slapped at the end of the season might have sobered him up a little. He has the ability to be a doug flutie type at least. you're buying into the media bullshit too much.

You'd think so, but then after getting hammered, he got jacked twice for throwing parties. Not just throwing parties, but apparently both times after talking at length to the media about being more mature and taking this more seriously...he went out and partied the night away.

I'm not saying the dude can't have a life, but he's not very bright and I think he's all talk. He'll be done in less than 4 years.

he might be an addict, but I guess I just assume the worse for Bengals luck.

One thing that strikes me is that he seems a bit too small for the NFL, and got hurt awfully quick. If he can go several games without getting hurt, his dual threat ability would be difficult to deal with. He runs faster than nearly any QB in the NFL today. (Conner Shaw is faster, but of course he is far less accurate and plays for the same team)

Not so sure he's THAT fast...I watched him run in a few games, and yeah, he's got speed, but Kuchley (sp?) sure did close the gap on him with the hit that ultimately took him out. Plus, as you said, he's already small...not sure I'd want to risk running him around the field. This isn't college, and if you are going to run, fine, but you better be built to take the hits (Think Cam Newton & not Drew Brees).

Thanks,

"A source close to LeBeau told ESPN.com that LeBeau is "OK" with leaving the Steelers and "ready for what happens next" but that he wanted to return in 2015."
