Yeah, that was a head scratcher as well.... The Giants are a solid franchise, for all the reasons you list. He and his agent had to think it was a long shot.

I think I read that John Thorton is his agent now. Also Ian Rapport reported that Mike Smith is the Giants top choice and Doug Marrone is a close number two. They might have had legitimate interest but Hue's a veteran guy who's bounced around the league

Good luck with that..... Exactly the reason why I said that if Marv left the Bengals he'd be hired right away. Best way to become an NFL coach is to have been an NFL coach.

Now they're saying Giants plan to hire Ben Macadoo. Maybe it helps Eli to stay in the same offense at the end of his career. It's better than hiring Mike Smith imo

Not to mention that shit of a division they are in. He could have gone 8-8 next year and won the damn division.

Going to Cleveland he has to deal with the Steelers, Bengals and Ravens.

Maybe he didn't want to move his family across the country?

My guess is they are promising him some kind of personnel power or say in the process. More power than some other head coaches would have. Maybe that was the lure.

I have zero idea why any self-respecting coach would take that job. He'll be back in 2+ years. No way he makes it through year 3.

Early word is that Hue will also recruit Marvin Jones to Cleveland. A sober Gordon and a healthy Marvin Jones would be a really good receiving duo.....And they have a good tight end.

obviously he thinks that he some room to improve.

there's no where to go but up in Cleveland. think of it, 8-8 would appear to be a huge improvement. Pittsburgh and Cinci generally lose a few stupid games to Cleveland and the Ravens are struggling to stay healthy as well.

he's locked in to Cleveland for at least a few years.
