Who tries to run from the police after being handcuffed. What a total moron!

Suns' Jackson faces felony charge after arrest

Phoenix Suns forward Josh Jackson was arrested in Miami this weekend and faces a felony charge of escape and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, according to online court records.

Jackson has an arraignment hearing scheduled for June 10, according to the records.

Jackson was arrested on Friday night at the Rolling Loud music festival in Miami Gardens, Florida, after he attempted to enter the VIP area too many times without a proper pass. He was handcuffed by police and then ran away from the officers before being detained, the Arizona Republic reported, citing a police report.

Andy Slater of 640 The Hurricane first reported the news of Jackson's arrest.

The Suns said they were aware of the incident and were gathering more information.

Jackson, 22, averaged 11.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 79 games (29 starts) last season, his second in the NBA since the Suns made him the fourth overall pick in the 2017 draft out of Kansas.

Before entering the NBA, Jackson agreed to enter a diversion program in 2017 to settle a misdemeanor count of criminal property damage stemming from a confrontation with a Kansas women's basketball player in 2016.

Josh ain’t the brightest bulb that’s for sure. There’s a 0% chance he spends 6 months in jail though.

Nobody's going to jail.

Since when did professional athletes have to abide by the rules of normal citizens.

This is such a false myth. Celebrities have the advantage of having money which gives you a much better chance of getting out of things. But their celebrity probably hurts them more than helps them.

For some things yes, but in many cases the Celebrity status made them popular enough for acquittal. For example O J Simpson never went to jail for the murders, neither did Robert Blake for killing his wife. Wagner who was married to Natalie Wood is another and Michael Jackson for what he did to those boys.

OJ eventually was found not guilty by a jury trial. However, he was still punished for those deaths in his later scrape with the law over stealing back some collectibles and holding a man against his will. Something like that would've been punished less had he not had that court case in his past (even though that legally should not have influenced that second trial).
