It's not dated. It's still excellent animation. Just not CGI.but why not cash in on IP they already have out there? There's a whole generation of kids out there who aren't going to get into the 1962 version of Snow White...the animation is dated and it doesn't hold up.
have you seen the movie?
It's not dated. It's still excellent animation. Just not CGI.
Like I said, they can still use the IP, but tell me an interesting story. Not the same basic Snow White story in a mix of live-action and bad CGI. Tell me the Queen's story the way they did Maleficient. Even Universal did something fresh with The Huntsman.
I'm not happy this movie is failing. Just saying what would interest me to see.

Yeah I liked Maleficient too. Huntsman wasn't a good movie. It was a prequel of sorts to it's equally bad Snow White and the Huntsman. Stewart wasn't in it.I did think Maleficent was pretty good. Don't think I ever saw Huntsman - that was with Stewart, right?

But still it's better than just retelling Snow White.
Like Hollywood just can't stop with certain free IP from Grimm, Shakespeare or Robin Hood
that's kind of what I like about the Land of Oz books and Wicked...they can tell the same stories from different viewpoints and it gives the story a whole different look.Yeah I liked Maleficient too. Its in my Disney rotation with the kiddos. Lots of class commentary like Mary Poppins but the guy gets the girl by being noble and such.Best Robin Hood movie was still the animated one with the foxes lol.

but there's no reason to get mad if they decide to do a Wizard of Oz remake. The OG is still there and available, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't take the opportunity to refresh it.
have you seen some of the posts in this thread? They mad.You keep saying mad. I think there's FAR less 'mad' people than you think. I think most people are just like, "Eh, whatever. Not for me." and just ignore it and don't see it, lol.
That's not being mad. Saying, "I wish they'd do something different than just a remake" is not mad. You're just hoping for a different product.
Disappointed or unimpressed and mad is not the same thing. Like sure there's mad people out there, but it's far and few between. I don't think I've seen anyone getting mad in this thread, lol.
Now making fun of it is one thing, also not being mad. I find it pretty amusing Rachel kind of shot down her own film. I find it pretty funny Disney wants to modernize remakes when it seems like the general audience doesn't really want them anymore (as evidence of the box office), I find it funny they keep doing woke/DEI messaging when everyone is tired of it, I find it damn funny that Dinklage whined about real live dwarfs (lol wut?) so they had to CGI nightmare fuel in, I find it hilarious and ironic that a film called The Working Man (with old ass Statham) is outperforming this, LOL.
I wouldn't say I'm CELEBRATING the failure. End of day I want good movies. I'd rather have every movie be great (and video game) for my entertainment value. But I can find some comic relief in that not being the case, lol.
I dont think the mad population is very large. I'm guessing maybe 5%.have you seen some of the posts in this thread? They mad.

and I am talking about the people here. There's always going to be someone on the SportsHoopla pissed off, ill.
I'm talking about the general public. I don't think your average working Joe who doesn't have much time to sit on social media all day and whine about Rachel Zegler's comments is going to give two fucks. MOST people in this Country are too self absorbed about their own life, or just frankly don't give two flying fucks and when "COMING THIS, May, umm, we mean September, uh, maybe December, February... oh wait March... LIVE ACTION SNOW WHITE!" those people are like, "Oh another one of those, whatever..." or for those with kids, "Eh an excuse to get my kid to shutup for a couple hours" and carry on about their lives.
and I am talking about the people here.
yet this movie is getting shitty reviews on Rotten Tomatoes by people who haven't seen it but want to see it burn.
it might be a small %, but that small % is doing what they can to make sure it fails...and that seems so weird to me.
they take shit too personal
bad publicity goes pretty far with something like this...especially when you have a hive mind mentality from the haters who hear about it and immediately echo what they heard from someone else. You're acting like people on the Internet have that much power... lol, if the movie looks good and interests people, they'll go see it. Plain and simple. There's always going to be Internet haters. And I don't buy that, there's plenty of people giving it 10/10 or positive reviews that are the inverse of those giving negative reviews. We've seen that time and again straight down to YouTube deleting dislikes etc.
I would agree I find it weird if people are purposely downvoting and negatively reviewing a movie they haven't seen lol. That we can agree on, but whatever...
That said, I also find it hilarious when movie studios say that the audience is racist/bigoted/unaccepting, etc. or critics like Critical Drinker or other online personalities are the result of their movie failing, lol. That's an even bigger joke to me. Maybe.. JUST MAYBE, you made a crap movie or re-used a story/IP that frankly nobody is interested in anymore. Or the people that were, just don't wanna rewatch a classic or 'another one of those'.

you think The Q would let any kids or grandkids of his go see this based off his posts? Hell no...because the movie hurt his feelings and he wants to see it fail. Same with many in this thread....and this is a small sample of what is out there.
it affects how the movie performs...hell this whole campaign against it started a year+ before it was released.
so you don't think there is any correlation between how this movie did in theaters and the bad "reviews" it has been getting since it was first introduced?lol I think you vastly overestimate the impact that 'the haters' have.. lol. There's always gonna be haters. There's always gonna be someone downvoting a movie as a 1 'because'... just like there are critics and users marking all these Disney films as 9/10+.. it goes both ways, man.
Wanting to see something fail is not the same as being mad or upset. You may want to see someone fail to cause reform, a better product, etc.
Someone saying, "I hope Seattle loses 14 games so we can get Manning, I'm so tired of Geno. We need a new direction." That's not being mad. You're just looking for change, and in the entertainment industry, the biggest cause of change is the almighty dollar.
Now in this specific instance of Snow White... well, it got a little political and it got a little sexist, etc. So if you pissed people off on that front, well reap what you sow. I really don't know what to say. You can't have your lead actress mouthing off and making those kind of remarks, and then playing the violin when you get backlash. And Disney was very much was concerned on that front. I don't want to bring politics into this so I'm going to stop there, but it's a thing.
so you don't think there is any correlation between how this movie did in theaters and the bad "reviews" it has been getting since it was first introduced?
that'st he thing...it was a very active attempt to make this movie fail. It wasn't a "I really hope this movie doesn't do well", it was a "I am going to do whatever I can to put down this woke movie"
you really don't understand cause and effect, do you?Nope, I don't.
The very active attempt at making this movie fail was on Disney's side. I get a little annoyed when fans or movie studios try to 'blame the audience' for a poor product (which by all accounts this seems to be).
The numerous delays/reshoots (as said that's usually a recipe for disaster, remember the Fantastic Four with Kate Mara? Yah woof).
The horrible looking trailers with fairly crap CGI.
The political controversy.
An unlikeable person as the actress.
The casting (yah, it wasn't great - although from what I've heard Zegler does a decent job and sings great).
The message this was going to not be the original story and be more modernized (from various individuals).
This was well before the movie came out and well before it was rated. I think a lot of people looked at the PRODUCT being made and all the flags around it and said, "Yah nah... I'm good."
If I was going to sell you a car. And I was like, "Well we've had to go through several redesigns because these parts just aren't working... and btw this car is not made for Palestinians, and we're going to change what you all loved about this model 10 years ago because let's face it, that sucks now... and we know it doesn't look very good but who cares, you should like it anyway."
I would assume you're not buying that car. I would also assume it would be rated poorly but before anyone rated it, you've already made up your mind: "Yah nah, I'm good". Now if someone wants to buy it, hey go for it. Who cares?
