RG3's fault for not catching that pass from RG3
Overthrew a wide open pierre garcon which put us in the 4th and 9 in the first place..
Need better QB play and RG3 is not giving us that right now.
Better o-line play and special teams play is a bigger priority. Defense too, until this week.
Not saying the O-line didn't stink or the special teams weren't bad (they were absurdly terrible). But RG3 missing easy passes (as Collinsworth put it) and fumbling is what cost us this game.
Game was still within reach until
1.) RG3 decided he'd hold the ball for eternity
2.) Decided that 9 minutes is more than enough time to score twice (we wasted 5 minutes getting 40 yards down the field).
3.) Missed wide open receivers like Garcon before the 4th and 9 play.
the list goes on and on, but as badly as the ST and OL played.. QB play and Coaching decisions (settling for FG's) is what cost us the game.
No playoffs this year this team needs a major overhaul
As I mentioned in another thread - unfortunately the erratic QB play happens quite often with a young QB. As well as RG3 played last season he still has a lot to learn (including the pts you mention above). It is up to the coaches to work with the guy but don't expect to see results right away. We have to be patient with this guy.
As for things like the OL - Collinsworth mentioned what has been mentioned several times on this forum. Two straight offseasons of cap sanctions are starting to show on the field. Without those sanctions they quite possibly get a few more quality O-lineman or a top notch pass rusher or even a stellar kick returner. Next season should result in some improvements in those areas.
Just trying to be real. It stinks for us as fans but you have to face facts.
No. That is the type of approach that got this team in trouble in the first place. Try and be objective. Two years of cap sanctions have hurt this team pretty badly. They don't need to overhaul everything or go into panic mode. They need to make improvements in specific areas which IMO should focus on the O-line and perhaps obtaining a premier pass rusher (hard to tell on DBs since some of the young ones may turn out well over time).
It has been a bad start for the season. However - some of this can be improved over time even with some of the current players (e.g. RG3 or the special team units).

jerry has those refs on his payroll tonight

LMAO at this comment. RG3 running like a scalded dog for the sidelines and we get flagged twice for breathing on him. 31-16.
