I guess the questions are the following:

How much due diligence is the responsibility of the Kings to check on players' health they are trying to acquire?

Does the league do anything to punish the Oilers because they seem to acting in bad faith?

seem to be acting? seems like they ARE 100% acting in bad faith. THAT being said we dont know whats in teh call between GM's

"We feel that he is banged up but since end of season we have not tracked this players rehab" type talk..... but you never know. what is Frasers salary? drop him on LTIR and take him off your books next season if hes not available.

this deal is more dump for Kings anyway.

as much as a coiler hater as i am ... i dont think its all Tamby ... throughout this whole deal both sides have been trying to stick it to each other ... both sides are acting in bad faith ... the initial Smyth for Creme Brule was leaked by the kings when there was no offcial deal

i also thought the deal was to dump Fraser anyways and now the Kings are coming out and saying well we wanted to give him a shot at making the team in training camp ... code for: we are going to publically make the oilers looks bad and want another draft pick to go away and be quiet

Fraser = $825k. that's not really the main issue.
buy out window closes tonight, and Fraser will be one of LA's 50 allowable contracts. So that could put them in a bind.
Not only that, but you can only use LTIR relief once you are up against the cap, so maybe that's not useful.

Edmonton's front office seems to be continuously adding to the enemies list. Free agents don't want to go there, and the list of teams that will trade with them is getting shorter and shorter.

That's the thing - You're already one of the least desired locations for players to start with, so you think the organization would try to put the best face forward and go above and beyond when dealing with player transactions. Instead, you have these on-going missteps by Lowebellini which paints the Oilers in a very bad light.

true but Kings arent this innocent victim ... I think theyre still butt hurt from the Penner trade and wanted a complete win on this trade ... (even though in my books getting rid of the Smyth contract for sweet fuck all would be classified as a win)

/(no dash ... Matt Stajan is worse than sweet fuck all)

OK, I admit I had a thing for Sook Yin Lee as well, but that was mostly from her days in the band "Bob's Your Uncle"

I'll admit I kinda, like tambellini. However I don't buy into it that he runs the show. Lowe is simply a fucking idiot, and that combined with katz' passion for stepping on other peoples toes and self entitlements is a recipe for disaster

Yeah Kings say no to a deal because the Oilers said that a player wasn't injured but turns out that was a lie (Burle) then the Oilers give a worse deal (ok maybe better cap hit) and the player they traded was also injured but they didn't tel; the Kings that.
Kings said they were not going to buy this guy out but still.
