The Ess Effer's might want to look at it that way, but we don't. This is a redemption game for us. It won't matter that we only get 6 days to plan for this game. It won't matter that our #2 & #3 CB's will be out. It won't matter that our #1 WR may not play and that our #2 is out. It won't matter about 42-13 or 29-3.
What will matter is watching Seattle stomp the crap out of Ess Eff on their own turf this Sunday, reemphasizing which team is the class of this division. We retake what is ours, the NFCW banner.

This game is pretty much irrelevant regardless. You guys lose, and nothing happens as far as seeding. We win, nothing happens as far as seeding. A win for us pretty much locks us in as a wild card team, but a loss probably won't affect that either.

That is where you're playing the assumption game. what's the probably that a loss won't effect your squad?

I don't know the odds, but there is a shot that Zona, Dallas, Philly and 9er's finish at 10-6 if you lose to the Hawks on Sunday.

Tiebreakers? It's not only a huge SF game to lock up a WC spot but it's a statement game. You have revenge, home crowd, an extra day coming off a cakewalk while the Hawks are flying in with the potential for an emotional letdown after the pasting of the Saints.

I don't think Kaep is good enough. 23-20 Hawks.

btw, don't you owe me a cookie for the 20 points I said the Hawks would win by in week 2. Hawks won by 26 and covered but I can't remember if we wagered a cookie or not. I think we cover again but not in a bitch slap fashion.

Yes...I'm dumb enough. Because the outcome of this game will have zero on my life and certainly could give two shits less how much I get mocked or ridiculed by complete strangers on an internet message board.

I can assure you the 53 guys playing for San Francisco will be brave enough to suit up Sunday. Seattle certainly looked the part of the best team in the NFL last Monday, but shit can change in a hurry. You guys are very talented and you can't argue with 10-1, but you are not unbeatable. Like I mentioned above, if a few things had gone a little different, The Niners are pretty damn talented themselves though, and despite the last two beatdowns you gave us, I still think we can go toe to toe with you guys. We shall find out soon enough.

I don't recall betting a cookie, but you were certainly right, we got our asses kicked. You guys match up extremely well with us and you were definitely the more physical team that day. Our game plan was terrible and our execution was just as bad. I expect a better game this time around with our receiving threats back but our OL needs to play much better than it has been if we expect to have a chance. I was extremely surprised with how your DB's stepped up against one of the best passing offenses in the NFL. Obviously the crowd noise and weather played a role, but they certainly deserve a ton of credit. Our passing offense looked good the last couple weeks, against much lesser competition. The game will come down to QB play, and right now you have to give the edge to Wilson. He started slow this year but has been steadily ascending and has caught fire as of late. Kaep is so up and down this year, and will struggle more against a great defense than Wilson will.

As far as the tie breaker goes, we will certainly outrank Arizona even if we lose to you and them, unless of course you think they will beat Seattle. IF Dallas, Philly, and San Fran both finish 10-6 then we will pretty much screwed, but that's going to be pretty unlikely IMO. This game certainly is important from a record stand point but we still control our own destiny even if we lose. Getting the 5 seed would be awesome but we need to win out and hope the winner of the Sunday night game wins the other matchup between the teams as well.

Unfortunately I haven't had a lot of time to spend on these boards as of late, but seeing as how it's game week against the seapukes, I thought I would make the time to drop by and see what ya'll had to say the game. Obviously there is no love lost between our fan bases. I never did pay too much attention to what that dipshit said, but I know how much he got under your guy's skin, so that makes him alright in my book.

I hate your damn team and seeing you guys win any game makes me want to punch a baby, but most of you are pretty good shit, and I do enjoy the trash talk that comes with two good teams and a budding rivalry. This division is going to be scary good for the next several years. The 49ers have an opportunity to show that they are not going to go away easy this weekend. When I said above the game is meaningless, I meant purely from a playoff standpoint. Obviously it means a lot to the team and the our fanbase. Same with you guys. A win on Sunday and I promise to make this thread unbearable for you guys for months to come, regardless of how the rest of season goes.

Sho enuf, I hate the Ess Effer's probably more than you hate the class of the NFCW, The Seattle Seahawks.
We have retaken control of this division and will hold onto it for quite some time. There are a multitude of reasons but it boils down to Pete and the team he has assembled. We will have tough decisions regarding our cap, but that will be the biggest obstacle on the horizon and our FO reloads better and quicker than any other franchise.
StL...still has issues at QB and the O in general.
Az, needs help in a few areas but do not have a franchise QB.
SF, had a big window and blew it up. Unsold at QB, DL, RB, C, #2,3,4,5 WR, K at a minimun.
Seattle's biggest weakness looks to be OG??? and maybe #1 TE, but I do like Zack but he isn't elite at his position.

I say we win on the road tomorrow on 6 days rest. I predicted a sweep of SF last year after the eye test watching our clubs either improve or regress.
