Your Niners are on par with the Seahawks. Your team isn't that much better, probably even in most categories.

Oh I agree 100%. Seattle and San Fran are very close in talent. Seattle has a better secondary, we have a better defense, albeit slightly. Our QB's are close, our running game is close, our WR/TE's are close, both teams have good lines etc...

As long as our front 7 stays healthy and/or we develop more depth, it would be hard to argue that anyone has a better defense, as a whole, talent wise than San Fran. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Seattle has units that are better than ours, Secondary being the most glaring. We have a big advantage at front 7 and a significant enough advantage in the trenches that make me feel confident in our chances against you guys in week 2. Obviously Week 1 is a huge game for us, but I've been looking forward to another crack at you guys in Seattle since the Super Bowl ended. I wasn't sad when you guys lost to Atlanta, but I certainly wanted a chance to shut you guys up in a game that actually mattered :)

Hmmmmmm.....the ENTIRE defense is better than Seattles but somehow Seattle allowed less ppg than the 9ers. I am trying to make sense of this.

The 9ers LBs are better than Seattles. They are perhaps the best in the league at these postions.

The Seattle secondary (both CBs and Safeties) are better than the 9ers. They are perhaps the best in the league at these positions.

Personally, I don't see that the 9ers DL is significantly better than Seattles. It is hard to compare the two because of the 3-4 vs. 4-3 schemes, but I think that the key here is Justin Smith and his recovery. Smith before the injury is an impact player who seems to give the 9ers a slight edge but during his absense the lack of depth was apparent and I want to see him post injury.

The worrisome fact of the 9ers situation is the fact that they have played their starters something like a ridiculous 90% of the snaps over the last two years and this has or will lead to "more wear on the tires" as well as a lack of development of depth. We shall see how it plays out but I certainly feel that the 9ers could have issues regarding depth / age (wear-n-tear).

I think (at least I hope) the issues you brought up were addressed this offseason. Baalke said that the lack of rotation was more philosophical than a depth issue. Fangio needs to recognize that the amount of snaps our aging defenders plays needs to be limited. I think we did a good job, especially on the DL through FA and the draft to shore up any depth issue, just a matter of how much rotation we will see when the season starts. Cowboy needs to be saved as much as possible for the big games at the end of the year.

I guess I'll play the homer card and say that our DL is quite a bit better, but obviously the difference in schemes make's it pretty hard to judge. Just having all-world Justin Smith would have to tilt the scale to us. How significant I guess is up for debate. Seattle's is certainly pretty damn good none the less.

Points allowed per game is certainly a great way to judge defenses. You were 1, we were 2. A couple points per game over the course of a season can be huge. I imagine you guys can say the same, but I can think of a couple TD's right out of the gate that we allowed in garbage time. 28.8 points over the course of season difference. It's amazing how one stupid bounce of a ball, one blown call, one missed etc...can slant the stats, just like it could alter the course of teams season. Your secondary is the best in the league, but to me I don't think it's enough to overcome the on the field performance of ours over the last couple years. Two years ago we were dominant, last year were easily in the discussion of the best. Last year you guys emerged. We will see who keeps it up or if either show any signs of decline at all. IMO it's more like 1a and 1b, going into the year.

Too bad the Seahawks didn't allow any "garbage Time" TD's in the Buffalo, AZ, SF games in that 150-30 stretch.

Oh my bad, they did allow one garbage time TD to the whiners, otherwise 150-23.

We don't want those garbage time TD's affecting the stats.

I saw a twit by a whiner fan today, Kaep perfect 4-4, how did Wilson do? llloooooool.

...ok tool...

What's the one thing that trumps stats everytime? Oh yeah...wins and losses. We had more wins and less losses than you, so we are a better team.

I try not to read too much into preseason games because they don't mean shit. All I know is our 1's looked really good against a team that went 13-3 and is the odds on favorite to win the AFC. Your 1's looked like shit against a team that will struggle to go .500.

Our "shitty" secondary looked good against a 1st ballot hall of famer. Phillip fuckin' Rivers marched down the field against the "Greatest Secondary Ever in the History of Football in the Entire Universe" Just a couple observations....

Good point. SF game would of been 49 - 6, but Pete called off the dogs by early in the 4th. Be thankful for that mercy 9balls. I wouldn't have. I would of run up the score to over 60 given the op.

Yeah. Props to PC for that. Such a great guy. Harbs is a much better coach and owns Pete's ass. He should have got it in while he could. "What's your deal?" Lol.

As of now I'll agree that your front 7 does give the edge to the Niners on defense. With Avril and Bennett added into the Hawks rotation in which they can produce a pass rush along with Big Red and others, then the nod slightly goes to the Seahawks defense. Of course this remains to be seen until regular season. I had all the confidence in the world Seattle could have gone into SF and won a hard fought game, but our D-Coordinator screwed that up in Atl. SF better win week 1 against GB, cause they could be 0-2 after the Seattle game. I just don't see the Niners winning on Seattle's home opener.

Honey Badger pulled GBs pants down tonight.

There is no way in hell Bulaga was going to play this season with a ACL blowout. GB made the right call on getting him on a hospital surgery table and move ahead as if he won't be there for 2013.

GB gained a running game this year, but SF better win that game, because yes, still a good chance they start off 0-2.

San Fran absolutely dominated Green Bay last time we played. They addressed their running game, but does that matter against a team you can't run against? I'm guessing they will so focused on Kaep's running ability that he will have a big day through the air. GB's a good team but I have no doubt we will handle them pretty easily. Any person that assumes a win against San Fran is delirious. Week 16 last year was an ass beating for sure. I can assure you all that week 2 will be a MUCH, MUCH more competitive game, and there is a very good chance you folks will be crushed by the outcome.

Same could be said for Seattle at Carolina. GB is obviously much better than Carolina, but after Seattle's road woes last year that game should not be considered an automatic W. Week 2 will be a tough test for both teams. Early in the year teams are still rusty so it is hard to make an accurate prediction. Seattle's amazing home field advantage will be a factor, but it still can go either way. The teams are both so talented it will definitely be fun to watch.

Seattle was 3-5 in the road, but we did get the road monkey off our backs. Finally!!!

The NFL butt raped us with 5 10am road start times this year. But that's the way it goes. We got the monkey off our backs in 2012 most importantly. It may not be a blowout, but think we can take Carolina this year in the opener.

3-5 is getting the road monkey off your back? Low expectations out of the Northwest.

Interesting that last year the 49ers had their tough out of division games on the road -- New England, New Orleans, Green Bay, while the Seahawks had their tough games at home. This year it's the opposite.

Lol...my god you are a loser. Seattle has a better secondary than us...great. Feel free to go pat yourself on the back, then go fuck yourself. I don't give a shit because our ENTIRE defense is better than yours, as is our team. I simply pointed out to your butt buddy Re-Re that Sando's comments are so obvious that only an idiot would bother to write the article. Only a bigger idiot would think it was worth bragging about.

U mad, bro? It's nothing about patting anyone on the back or bragging about anything. I was merely pointing out that you're wasting your time crying about Sando stating that the whiners, which you obviously are one of, will be scouring our waiver wire for secondary help because your secondary stinks.
Is it that difficult to comprehend?

No, you didn't point out that Sando's comments were obvious, dre21's butt buddy, :hdn:
you were whining and thought it was preposterous and your whiners had all these pro bowlers, :baby:

then go fuck yourself...I guess I didn't expect some whinny bitch to have a coronary over it, but here you are. Carry on with your childish tirade...

:violin: Sounds like you're the homo that is having the coronary and having a childish tirade, but that's par for the course with your delusional thinking and :cheer2: Dre's calling... says the peanut butter is getting warm...

Suh, no need to pay him any attention. He's an overly sensitive douche waffle with no originality. (Wiz, thanks for the vocab extension)

It's no originality because you couldn't find the humor in you, suhsyourbuttbuddy, yossarian and sickness being part of the whiner brothel brother society. Yes, those photo's were fun originals.

Suhs your butt buddy with a ruined husker football sign with a cup out? = Original...

Then you say I have no originality, AFTER you steal a Wiz phrase, which shows YOU HAVE NO ORGINALITY! :laugh3: :laugh3:

:cheer2: Typical homer opinion. Hawks had the #1 scoring defense in the NFL, #1. Isn't that how you rate Defenses or would you like to confer with dre21 over a :bj: to determine your new set of rules that determine the #1 rated NFL defense... :laugh3:

Bring out the :pop2::cheer2: for more delusion. Since you can't read a stat chart, why not listen to an un-biased view of Seattle, who for years called the Hawks soft.

Merril Hoge at 1:10 and from 1:45 - 2:00, specifically calls out the Hawks OFFENSIVE LINE and TRENCH play as why we'll play with you whiners and then both Hoge and Edwards take the Hawks to win the NFCW.

NFC West Preview - ESPN Video - ESPN

McFly, a non-pompom waving queer, just stated the exact opposite of your "significant advantage in the trenches".... :gaah: You lack football acumen because your glasses have too much cheap gold tint.

I think (at least I hope) the issues you brought up were addressed this offseason. Baalke said that the lack of rotation was more philosophical than a depth issue.

The biggest problem is your lack of depth. Your whole OL, VD, Gore and entire back 8 started every game last year. Where is your depth? Throw your pompoms and blind faith in Baalke's statement out with your bath water. You lack depth. Great starters but they better not get injured. Hawks don't have those issues.

Your defense was hemorraging those last 6 games. 30 pts / game is pathetic = No depth. Will you ever
admit you have some real issues going into 2013? Let me break it to you, it's obvious.

Hawks giving whatever the line is on week 2, big! An easy double digit win
