Sounds good to me. It's gonna be hard to give all if these RBs significant playing time.

Dyrell will be our go-to slot receiver next season. Kevin Asante and Corey Fuller will get some time there as well.

More than likely, Mangus will get his first looks there (think Dyrell Roberts, who came in as a running back, as did Nubian Peak).

Knowles could play either outside or in.

That's awesome. No need to lose him in RB purgatory.

Even though he has made comments about PT now that DW4 is gone, I agree that Mangus ends up in the slot. He'll get a fair shot at RB, but will be stuck behind Coleman, Mike Holmes (who's been a monster on practice squad), and Drew Harris after rehab. After one more year of Dyrell, I think Mangus will be ready to shine.

Yeah, I hope Mangus will be willing to accept that change, it is unfortunate for him though because he is great at RB in the film I've seen. He also has to compete with the 2013 class though, which will probably include DJ Reid, so I think he should commit to slot WR early

I doubt you'll see any true-freshman getting too much PT at WR (unless we're talking someone of Joel Caleb's caliber). Sherman doesn't like to play young guys at WR because of how much he values blocking at the position. And even with the best WR corps in VT history, they were hard to watch as true freshmen... A lot of dropped balls and very poor route-running.

You can almost always expect our wideouts to redshirt unless they are in the 4-deep.

We may HAVE to play some of them though depending on who we get and injuries. We were lucky with Coale and Boykin for the most part with injuries. WRs always seem to be tweaking something.

What about that Army Vet who was being looked at for WR? is that still something that will happen? If so would he be a legit threat?

Still being sorted. Nothing new has come out. Hopefully they can get him set up quick.

Can't help but think about what Davis could have been (and to a lesser degree, could still be in his last year) while looking at your list TAE. Alshon Jeffrey type measurables. He needs to step up big this year and give the NFL scouts a reason to pick him up in April '13.

Agreed. Davis has all of the tools to be very, very good. But, he has been very inconsistent, doing well in some games while almost completely disappearing in others. If he can put it all together this coming year he'll open some eyes at the next level.

Davis also disappears in some games because he plays behind guys that are producing. he has had some terrible games (Duke this year), but we also had these two guys named Danny Coale and Jarrett Boykin catching ton of balls.

davis seems to have trouble tracking the ball and his hands arent as good as id like them to be. he seems like an athlete out there rather than a receiver sometimes. maybe this is due to the fact that he was a qb in high school. hopefully he gets it down.

I think a lot of the complaints about Davis stem more from the mental side of his game than the physical. Some guys play totally different when placed in a role that bears greater responsibility, i think this may be the case with Davis.

I have felt kind of bad for Davis the last two years. I feel like he has NFL level athleticism but hasn't really caught anyone's eye because he doesn't get a lot of targets. Now he is going to need to have an amazing year to get noticed/drafted
