Can they at least put him up in San Quentin or Rikers Island or something?
Guantanamo Bay

He can still be deported, but not as likely
The 90 days could be anything from 10 to 90. He gets to pick the jail. If he picks an expensive VIP jail, yes we have those, he could serve the whole thing. If he picks LA Central he would be out quick.
Then he has to go to immigration and fight for his Visa
Then the NHL could suspend him without pay for a while.
Then maybe his Achilles heals and he plays hockey again.
So close enough. 90 days but he'll probably serve a fraction of that due to the old "good behavior." Still unsure of what this means to him and LA's cap.
Kings statement on Voynov: "We believe the legal system has effectively resolved this matter and the punishment is fair and just."
Good thing he didn't have any oxycodone in his pocket when he beat her ass, amirite?

Sovetsky Sport on #Voynov case: "U.S. laws are so strict and unpredictable that they are very difficult for a Russian to understand
Yup, don't beat up your wife or girlfriend is too difficult to comprehend
Yeah, that's the thing about laws. They really only get "strict" when you break them and can't bribe everyone and anyone up to Vladimir Putin.
They may not have a choice. He has damaged trade value, so he would be hard to trade without hurting the team. If he is reinstated, the Kings have to be cap worthy within 24 hours. And worst of all he is a low cost 2nd pairing defenseman. What is the Kings biggest need?If I'm the Kings I stay as far away from this guy as possible.
They could probably try the same approach they tried with Richards. If anything, I'd think this would be an even stronger case given that Voynov is actually in jail and his offense was worse than Richards' tooThey may not have a choice. As much as we don't want abusers on our favorite team, we need to look no further then the Kings last official statement to see they are already spinning for a returnł

I assume you're referring to the fact that one player is a useful piece of their team while the other was just going to burden their cap situation for years to come? The fact that they haven't done this already (while doing it to Richards's contract) means that you can cut the hypocrisy with... one of those hypocrisy cutting tools

Actually I was thinking that they were picking on Richards because he's black, but I like your idea better
