Kings were told by the NHL how to proceed
I still don't know what theKings terminated Richards for exactly
I am guessing it is not reporting he was under investigation

If it was just Oxy the max penalty is a year suspension
That is in the CBA I've been told

Voynov could still be gone. Deported or banned by Gary but I wouldn't bet lots on either of those

Slava Voynov was taken into custody Wednesday by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, throwing the NHL future of the young Kings defenseman into question.

They refused him bond (for now)
He is not playing hockey anywhere until after the All Star game.
If they release him on bond he is not playing anywhere this season

So much to hate about this article/circumstances. "He's in a tough spot". Yeah, poor thing Mr. Lawyer. Being reminded he was being paid until he hurt himself...now THAT is just unacceptable. He won't be able to play for awhile, even if the NHL magically okay'd it. If he's having issues with immigration...well, NHL teams leave the country quite a bit.

Nothing new here. Just SI two weeks later saying what other people said already. But they have a Russian source. Kings knew this on 8/21 when ICE put a hold on him.

They said today if he wasn't available for camp they were going to terminate, but now they don't have to.
The point of that is, if Slava ever returns the Kings hold his rights. He did not retire yet either. I don't know what that would have done. If there would be a recapture penalty or not.

And Rich it is self depart not self deport. One he can apply to come back.
