He's the guy who replaced Andrew Luck at Stanford - a pretty much no-win situation. Scouts don't seem to like anything about him in terms of mechanics - windup is too long, doesn't set his feet right, has poor accuract (despite having a good completion percentage), lacks arm strength, panics at pass rushes, but they say one pretty good thing about him - they call him a winner. It definitely helps that he played in a pro style offense - particularly the west coast offense - and has good size.

While the trade makes very little sense, at least it isn’t much capital. I doubt he makes the team honestly.

It would be a good battle for the #2 spot.

Sty got his QB.

...And I hope it's for the reason why I thought we should have drafted him....to finally, and at long last, rid ourselves of one Colt McCoy. Good young upgrade behind Smith.

How do we lose here ? Hogan is young , has actually taken meaningful NFL snaps and at the cost of swapping a few spaces in round 6 ? Certainly worth taking a flier on even if he is cut

Loved Hogan in college.

Not a bad understudy to Smith imo.

Not convinced yet? ....wait there's more, here's how they matched up at their respective combines. Conspirators, Bruce just might be out to prove something here. BTW; all of this is exactly why I thought it wise to draft another Kirk.

Yeah, not a great move, but not a bad one either. If it works out for whatever reason, great. If it doesn't work out for whatever reason. That would be OK as well.

Apologies for the second part of my previous post, copy/cut and paste doesn't always transfer well. So here's what I wrote prior to posting that mess

Not convinced yet? ....wait there's more, here's how they matched up at their respective combines. Conspirators, now you can say that Bruce just might be out to prove something here. BTW; I knew how well they matched up at the time. #STY'sScoutingService.

Well it worked out well with Kirk and except for the losing him to free agency part of it, I see no reason why it can't again. :D (this will drive some here nuts)

Can you imagine how hard and how many times dean and coach would ride that horse into the ground.
