That validates my thought that he pre-read the route on the first pick. Of course so did Prince Alphabet. If he is supposed to throw the route regardless then it is on the coaches to run it out of different looks so the D can't pre-read the route. Gibbs was famous for this. He would run his standard plays but out of all kinds of different formations and packages so the D couldn't predetermine the play.

I don't care if your job is NFL QB or production person in a marketing firm. You get better with experience.

Agreed. You know and can identify Xs and Os way better than myself but everything he and Jay have said seems to validate a predetermined read and throw. Given that was a play used a few times before, that is more on coaching. Got to break a tendency and not give the D that advantage.

So it looks like Ribeye will thankfully NOT be competing for the starting LG spot. He will likely remain the backup on game days. It will be Ari or Long competing for the position and it should be more than short term as Lauvao will likely be out 3-4 weeks. Good opportunity for the young guys.

Breeland has mentioned in the past that he prefers playing slot CB in Barry's D. It also appears he may be a better fit at that position. But with Hall out, Breeland will move to the outside to replace him.

Was thinking that myself. Lauvao has been doing much better this year for us but if we can get one of our younger players developed into that position it is a win/win for the team.

With Kirk Cousins’s four interceptions outpacing his three touchdown passes through the first three games of the season, Washington Redskins Coach Jay Gruden made clear this week that the coaching staff’s focus is on helping the quarterback with his decision-making rather than his mechanics.

What coaches like is Cousins’s quick release, which has played a major part in the fact that he has been sacked just four times against opponents that include two of the league’s top pass-rushing teams in Miami and St. Louis.

What continues to trouble them is the tendency to make a bad play worse by forcing a ball that shouldn’t be thrown in the first place. The challenge for coaches is getting Cousins to quit doing that latter without inhibiting his impulse to throw with abandon.

“We just try to teach good, sound decision-making, you also don’t want to have the quarterback play scared either,” Gruden explained this week. “He has got to let balls fly.”

Gruden alluded to Cousins’s two interceptions in the 32-21 loss to the New York Giants as one example of a throw he could live with, as a coach, and another he couldn’t.

The first throw, over the middle and intended for Pierre Garcon, was picked off by a cornerback, Prince Amukamara, with terrific anticipation and reflexes. “If a defensive back makes a good break or picks one off, that’s fine,” Gruden said. “You know, that’s going to happen.”

my concern isnt the 2 bad throws on the picks . mine is he left 3 td passes on the field with poor throws , maybe even 4 . if he hits half of those then we win

I agree with you. Those are the bigger concerns from that game.
