I understand that but it seems to me that coach Jay Gruden is going for a more energetic and passionate staff judging by all the stuff I heard about Joe Barry and now Robb Akey this video tells me what kind of staff their looking for https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbjMz5umC7E

My post wasn't condemnation, just something I read about him. His only experience in pro football is the one year as assistand DL coach last year. I have no clue if he will be any good or not. If things don't go well early it might be a problem if veteran DLman don't listen to a 1 year in pro football coach. On the other hand maybe he is a diamond in the rough.

awesome, i want the defensive coaches to have fire. gets the players more amped up, confident,and ready to make plays

OH we agree change was needed. Its just a question of where that we disagree on.

i would rather take a shot with barry and his defensive changes then the career journeyman DC who is going no where .

if you look at his career hasslett is the epitome of of pedestrian . maybe 1/3 of his career could you point to a defense that was top 10 in anything . more often than not it was avg at best and hovering around the late 20's early 30's

shoot even his own players were pot shotting him

i could care less if barry goes on to fail here , we will simply get another guy until we get the right one but staying with the same old lame crap because you are scared of change wont cut it

5 years is a fair amount of time for him to get it together . time to move on period

he has had 18 years and he has had good players and he mostly failed . nothing more to see here

Yep, you're right, I said the same thing in an earlier thread about our players and got lampooned about it. Now that there's a new GM saying the same thing my once empty bandwagon is full of people saying Amen.

Know what 106.7? I sure would like to know what type of changes all of these folks had in mind when they were yelling for it.

I would have liked to see Wade hired but we'll see how things work out. If the defense struggles the first thing you are going to hear is we hired a DC who was 0-16 and a DL coach who was 20-50 with one year of NFL experience. They can hire Mickey Mouse and Goofy if they help the team win I'll be happy.

i know what players we need to get rid of and what players wont bring us in the open market .

we have holes to address as far as players are concerned but so far , other then barry , i think we have done a very good job upgrading the staff . cavanaugh , and callahan seem to be what the DR ordered . fewell should be an upgrade over morris .

barry is a head scratch er but hopefully he will have learned some things in san diego

if nothing else we have added youth and enthusiasm on the defensive side

I definitely agree we made the wrong move but for the right reasons. I would have made a different hire myself. Oh well...
