If that were the case, Foles would have to be in a "distinctly defensive position." Watch the play again. Is Foles even close to being in a "distinctly defensive position"? Considering he is several yards away from the ball and the play is nearly ending, the answer is easily no.




Not sure the answer is easily anything. But still think it was a cheap shot personally.

In case you couldn’t, both teams made it obvious for you with about 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter. With the score tied 27-27, Eagles quarterback Nick Foles threw what appeared to be an interception by Bashaud Breeland. On the return, Redskins defensive tackle Chris Baker nailed Foles, and his Eagles teammates — particularly tackle Jason Peters — took exception to the hit and went after Baker.

With haymakers and helmets flying, the benches emptied and a crowd of players fought near the Redskins sideline, and at one point it seemed as if the scene would get out of control of the officials, as it got closer to the stands. The officials ordered both teams to their respective sidelines before finally sorting it all out. Both Baker and Peters were kicked out of the game.

“It was a bloodbath out there, a dog fight,” Redskins defensive tackle Jason Hatcher said.

It wasn’t the infamous body bag game of 1990, when seven Redskins players were hurt and rookie Brian Mitchell had to finish the game at quarterback — though DeAngelo Hall may have torn his Achilles tendon. But, as far as Redskins-Eagles games go, this one was pretty good.

What’s more, the Eagles may have gotten a look at the only team that may battle them in the NFC East this year.

Injuries are definitely mounting up. It will be interesting to see who steps up, cuz we are going to need everyone to pull together. A loss to the Giants would be devastating but they are playing us at the perfect time to get a win.

Speaking of young cornerbacks on the team, Chase Minnifield has been signed to the 53-man roster to replace DeAngelo Hall. He was the only CB on the practice squad after the team released Richard Crawford recently. Crawford is still a free agent, and could be signed again to fill Minnifield's spot. The Redskins also need to fill Ihenacho's roster spot, so another roster move is coming soon.

The defensive line is very thin with Barry Cofield going on short-term IR. Jason Hatcher injured his hamstring, and Frank Kearse also left the game with an injury before coming back in. There are two defensive linemen on the Redsins practice squad, rookie NT Robert Thomas and DL Hebron Fangupo who was just signed last week. They also have a backup Center, Braxton Cave, on the practice squad. Kory Lichtensteiger left yesterday's game, but returned shortly after. His only backup at Center is Chris Chester, which creates more depth issues along the line if he has to shift over. The team could also sign a free agent off the street to fill the spot. Expect a move to be made by tomorrow.
