Building through the draft works best when you...

A) draft a superstar who doesn't actually start getting your team wins for a few years, giving you opportunities to string consecutive lottery picks together (see Thunder)
B) Have 2 veteran superstars injured for most of the year, allowing a playoff team to get a lottery pick (see Spurs)

The two franchises who love most to talk about "doing things the right way" both got pretty damn lucky.

I'm basing Philly being a championship contender on the fact that the east is weak as shit and in 2 years time Miami will be bottom of the barrel again. Then it's up to Indiana and Philly to fight it out in the ECF.

Miami rarely been bottom of the barrel but as I said this isn't about Miami. You don't think other eastern teams will have top picks and money to sign free agents? You act like Philly and Miami are the only 2 teams in the east There are 13 other teams

Lakers fans really know nothing about basketball. Miami been one of the most consistent eastern conference teams since they been in the league. The only team that's been better than Miami out east since they came into the league is probably the Bulls

 And apparently some Heat fans know nothing about the new CBA.

Once Lebron leaves and Wade gets older you'll be stuck in the same position cleveland and philly are in now.

The Heat GM doesn't operate like Cleveland & Philly. The Heat were always a good franchise even before LBJ. As I said before stop comparing apples and oranges. You think if LBJ leaves they're just going to sit there and not do shit? As I said before the Heat franchise been around since the late 80's and LBJ only been here 4 years now. They were a good franchise before LBJ and will be a good franchise after Lebron also.

Once?
When?

What are you even talking about?
Are you a psychic?

James isn't going anywhere this offseason.
If we get a few more years out of him in his prime then to be honest, I don't care what he does.
By then, Wade will retire or accept a much lessor role.

Riley got stuck once in recent tines when Shaq through a hissy fit.

As long as global warming does do a 360 and South Beach disappear, the Heat will always be fine.
N.B.A. players WANT to be here.
Cleveland and to a lessor degree Philly? Not so much.

@Shaq

Philly is in that spot because the GM sucked, CLE is in that spot because the owner most likely lives off a diet of paint chips and mercury laced lead sandwiches and nobody wants to live in CLE.

MIA has Riley who has had success where ever he has gone...maybe you remember him from the 80s? Also MIA is a destination large market city.

Also all the stars in MIA took a pay cut to play together before the league ganged up on them and made the CBA what it is today. If the CBA was what it is they may have taken even larger pay cuts.
