They keep this up and Jack will be gone and hopefully they finally get a real GM?

Another silver lining is by Lloyd's recent remarks I seem to like this side of Lloyd. Calling players out and actually following through and twice now talking about himself being fired. It seems not only are the players are having problems but it appears Jack and Lloyd might be having problems which could be great for fans who want a change. Jack could not possibly keep his job if another manager walks out or he fires him.

What's the difference between dying and watching the Mariners lose by 1 and 2 runs every day?
With the former, you don't have to watch a shitty baseball team lose by 1 or 2 runs every day.

Not really a silver lining since he's done so well of late.

I just wanted to point out that Walker should have his ERA down very close to 5.00 now.

(okay, just checked, and it's 5.40....but still, pretty amazing considering where he was a couple weeks back)

Over his last 10 games Ackley is hitting .286/.400/.476, Silver Lining?

1. Maybe this will increase his trade value (This obviously being the silverest of silver linings)
2. Maybe its the start of one of those 2 month Ackley runs (just like July and August last year) that will help the team win.

I have what should be silver lining. There's no way that Nintendo/Lincoln/Mather will keep Jackie Z much longer, right?

Mark Trumbo was able to take a day off... We could've used his .162 average today...

Also, at least we don't have to worry about Farquhar getting the nod in the opening game vs the Giants...

We still have another 12 days before we have to acknowledge that the M's have had losing records in April, May, and June.

Best I could do.

And actually, that silver lining can be ruined by somebody willing to do the math. I'm too drunk for it.

i really did start this thread with hope it wouldn't end up sardonic....which i crushed myself a couple of times.

but i think talking about montgomery as a silver lining works. great kid. very professional and composed. couldn't ask for a lot more.

Good point... He's been fantastic and it's unfortunate that he's 1-2... If he had a decent offense, he'd be 3-1 or 4-0...

McL is growing himself a set of balls... He's finally calling out his 3, 4, 5 hitters...

“Our three-four-five-six guys have got to produce,” McClendon said. “They get paid to produce, and they’ve got to produce. It’s not rocket science or (findings from) the analytical department. They’ve got to hit.

“The meat of your order has to hit and carry your club. That’s why they get paid the big bucks. To hit and drive in runs. It’s just that simple.”

How about how the Mariners' pitching has dominated Houston's super rook Carlos Correa?

Versus Seattle he is 4-26 (.154 BA) with 2 runs scored and one RBI.
Versus everyone else he is 16-39 (.410 BA) with 9 runs scored and 10 RBI.
