Joseph looks to have gone from a calm, cool and collected coach to near flat out panic. I'm sure Elway was in his ear a bit to keep giving Siemian another chance, but even the most stubborn of coaches/owners cannot let this train continue down this track. We'll be lucky to win a few more games like this. The defense has already started grumbling about the offense and their pure suckfest the last month. After ANOTHER turnover laden game, we have to put Brock in against Philly or ol' Vancy is gonna be staring down the barrel of a gun by season's end. There is being stubbornly optimistic a player can turn the corner, and then there is stubbornly stupid enough to think he's not obviously the problem. The Siemian experiment is over.
And people can say that, yes, Fowler dropped a sure TD in the first half and blah, blah, blah.
Those two first half picks by Siemian were absolutely JV type plays. The INT to Peters had my jaw on the floor as he underthrew Derby by about 20 yards, and the one where he was throwing to Taylor up the sideline.........if he pulls that down he's got 7-10 yards of green in front of him on a 3rd and 6.
He needs to get the hook after this loss. There is no viable reason to think otherwise.
He just looks shook out there. 4-5 drop backs last night I literally saw him flinch under pressure. I know the kid has had his shit rocked the better part of last month, but you can't play timid in this league. What little of his confidence he had after last weeks' horror show is undoubtedly gone now. We still have 9 games left this year, and while a 7-2 run to finish the year is highly unlikely if we can put up 17-20 points a game at least it'll be possible.
