Real talk about this: how incredibly sucky is the Ottawa Sun? I mean, they officially retracted the story this afternoon, but, HOW in the world does that end up published? The fact that every journalist that saw it this AM made pretty much one phone call to dispute it sums up the shoddy nature of their work.

The real sucky part is that all of Sun Media gets painted with the same brush, which obviously isn't fair, but it's also a reality. Randy Sportak who works for the Calgary Sun Sports dept. actually came on Calgarypuck this morning and said this kind of crap paints all journalists who fall under the QMI agency in a bad light.

Is it really news that the Ottawa Sun sucks? I mean really? We're talking about a publication that employs Don Brennan, a guy who wrote an entire editorial piece about how Erik Karlsson is failing in his duties by NOT talking to Brennan about his marriage and personal life. It's terrible and always has been.

The Calgary Sun is not much better. These are tabloid papers with no value outside of entertainment and seeing the trainwreck that is the typical sunshine girl.

I will say that the Calgary Sun sports department is pretty good (aside from Eric Francis). As far as the news department is concerned, though, Kenny, I agree, it's pretty much a rag/tabloid fodder.
