does anyone have a sorrier collection of teams than DJ right now?

Lakers, Raiders and UCLA has to be the worst combination on this thread....

probably the worst NFL team, definitely a bottom 5 NBA team, and UCLA has nothing going on what so ever....

anyone else out there can rival that ineptitude?

UCLA won the National Championship in college baseball in 2013

Great move by the cav's IF they can turn around a pick and still get a center before the deadline.

Smith and Shumbert will be just fine on the court and a HUGE upgrade over waiters (who is just as much if not more of a head case as either of these two have ever been). Get them out of NYC and onto a competitive team and they'll be very good again. Just needed out of the poison that is the Knicks.

Cleveland got better players and a better draft pick all in the same trade. Great move by them.

I don't under what the thunder were thinking. Why would they want Waiters?!? Idiotic for any team to give up a 1st for him....even worse if you already have a ton of other players who dominate the ball and can score. Has to be a 2nd trade on the horizon for them I would think.

They are the worst Team in the NBA...which is horrific considering the lack of talent in Philly.

Why not lighten the luxury tax bill by shipping out guys that don't have a future in the organization?

Shump had a bit of buzz, pre-injury.

But, what's the going rate for a oft-injured shooting guard, that can't shoot, and has a bum knee and Shoulder:noidea:.

Might as well let him go and give Hardaway and Cleanthony Early some meaningful minutes.

Plus, Phil could have another deal on the horizon.

It wasn't so much they dealt them. It's that NY basically got jackshit back for them. This wasn't a good deal for NY. They had assets, devalued assets, but still assets yet still undersold on them. Looks like Phil hasn't quite got the hang of the GM thing yet. It's similar to his other deal before the season. He dumped Tyson Chandler, still a very good player, to Dallas for a guy they are likely going to cut, a backup PG (Larkin), and a PG who's skillset doesn't fit the triangle (Calderon).

why would they do that? Amare's contract expires next year.

It was more of a joke. He's playing well and over the last week, the Knicks are finding ways to sit their players that have talent (Melo sitting out, Shump and Smith traded).

Shumpert is the absolute perfect player to pair with Irving in the back court.

I like the lineup of Irving, Shumpert, James, Love, and Thompson. Your back court has 1 guy with unreal offensive talent and 1 guy who will play great defense and do the dirty work. Your front court has the same exact combo. And then you've got the best player in the world in the middle.

James and Shump are both still out with injury right now, its gonna take some time for this, but I like it.

The Knicks had a surplus of swingmen. Smith had virtually no value, he's a boneheaded chucker and Shump's value had dropped. They had been trying to trade him for a while and couldn't.

Phil inherited a mess and just created more cap space to go shopping this summer.

LMAO....well Russ MO is just to change to a die hard fan of whatever team is on top...I imagine he was putting on his life vest to jump ship on the Cavs like he did when he was a huge OKC fan

Pointless trade for Cleveland. Doesn't make them that much better. I think OKC got a nice young player to mix with Durant and Westbrook. NY gets out of a hole.

This reminds me of a LBJ move when he was in Cleveland when he wanted Mo Williams and Jamison and then left the next year and putting Cleveland in a hole.

How is it pointless? Waiters was a malcontent. Jr is the same type of player but better imo and shump give them much needed perimeter defense help.

Plus they turned a meaningless 2nd round pick into another future 1st rounder.

Cleveland now has 3 1st round draft picks in this upcoming draft. Obviously they will start to package those around the league either now or during the offseason to try and find a center.

Although they still might be best served saving those picks for this offseason where they really could work some magic with the Haywood contract. But I think desperation gets the better of them and they use one of those 1st rounders now.

I really don't think people understand how bad Waiters is. He is as big of a head case as there is in this league. He has been nothing but trouble for Cleveland since he got there. Getting into locker room fights, being a chunker on the court, saying just the most idiotic things imaginable at the worst times. This is a guy that Cleveland couldn't trust to start LAST year before Lebron and Love came to town. That's right....he was a bench player on a terrible team. Why OKC gave up a 1st rounder for him is just beyond me.

Ramona Shelburne: Lakers were among teams that had tried to get Waiters. Cle wasn't looking for just salary relief tho & Shump more valuable than Sacre Twitter @ramonashelburne

The Thunder thought about it. But, wisely passed.

Brook plays zero defense and will want a big payday even after being gimp his whole career.

They need to just roll with Adams....

Ohm Youngmisuk: Was told Nets + OKC recently talked involving Lopez, K. Perkins (expiring deal), P. Jones, L. Thomas but stood pat liking how they've played Twitter @NotoriousOHM

Jackson's too soft to fight Waiters. Westbrook though. Westbrook will straight cut a dude.

Reports I've seen so far are Lou Amundson, Lance Thomas, and other bottom rotation players. They also get a 2nd rounder and a trade exception. Granted Shump is always hurt and JR is JR, but the Knicks could have done a heck of a lot better imo. It is blatantly obvious they are tanking now. Any player with talent is being traded or sitting out (Melo). They're probably trying to move Amare as we speak

This could be my favorite quote from this site.

The Cavs are doing what they did last time. Grabbing anything they can to appease LeBron. Is Donyell Marshall still out there?
