Awesome! That's falling into mediocrity in style~

Reminds me of a time long ago (I have no idea why) when I was at a bud's wedding at a golf course. A bunch of us are drinking on the balcony and watching this older lady and her husband trek it up 18. She's doing the classic ladies swing of standing up on the backswing and swooping down after it to a net result of 75yrds per pop. Alas, we all begin to comment from our distance away as she's in a deep greenside bunker and bets ensue about how many strokes it'll take her to get out. 5! 4! 8! So Sean cuts in with one...she's out in one! She steps into the bunker, sizes up the very difficult shot, bends down picks it up and tosses it onto the green.

Sean won.

tabasco, I'm sure missing out on your range balls was the diff :suds:

yeah trying to warm up on the course was not good....not to mention it was the first golf of any kind this year too. Only lost one in the water (thank god there wasnt much) and two in the woods.

Was Par 72 or 70??

Usually the winning team goes under par, depending on how good the teams are and the course too. Still pretty damn legit with the 72

par was 72. winning team had a ringer for sure. They only played 3 in their foursome and went 10 under. Got the impression from the banter at the lunch afterward that his group had won this event before. Not sure how many teams total but i know we tied at least one other team for par and they gave a "prize" to last place/most honest team at one over. And it was a charity fundraiser too so who knows how many mulligans got sold. I think the twosome we got paired with were surprised when i told them i didnt buy any.

Wife and I won a couples tournament. Just a 9 hole play and cocktail hour, once a month tourney.

Still - 9 under through 9 is tough to beat.

Nice! I can't get my wife out on the course any more. The last time she played she hit a line drive shank to the right and hit this older lady in the back of the hand and broke it. She hasn't played since.

72 is impressive, haven't been out much lately but I was never good enough to shoot par, usually high 70's - low 80's... It's not only about score for me though and most times I don't even keep score. Been playing since I was about 11 but now beers and the relaxation is why i'm out there.

To be honest the couple's events are almost unfair for us. She hits it a legit 240-250, and gets to play from women's tees. Oh yeah, and she also has qualified for Women's US Mid-Am National Championship 2 years running.
