at the rate of these suspensions.. i have a salary cap question.. since its calculated on a daily basis, do suspended players still count as cap money for the day?

things could get interesting at the trade deadline if people have saved a bunch of money because of suspended players

I don't believe you get any cap relief for suspended players...Injured players (LTIR) yes, but you still pay the full freight for a suspension.

If I'm wrong, please correct me.

LMAO, normally I'm on your side 43....but after seeing the video, I think you're nuts for thinking 8 games is too much

When all is said and done, it may be the right amount. Wiz did something stupid, I agree. But if it was any other player (Except for Pronger) I'd be saying the same thing. And we won't know until it happens later in the season in the midst of a playoff run and a star like Chara does it.

I am displeased with Shanny looking for airtime and being inconsistent. He made the statement that he didn't feel Wiz needed to defend himself. How can he possibly know what Clusterfuck was going to do? Wiz nailed him before he had a chance to do anything. Clusterfuck is a pussy and could have skated past Wiz and laid another cheapshot on Tyutin. There was a time when there was retribution for acting like that on the ice. Now you are supposed to stand aside and let the retribution happen in a TV Studio? It feels to me like Shanny has gotten all this power and wants to slap his dick out on the table and make his presence known.

As Darkstone (probably unintentionally) pointed out, the Boyes hit to the head worked out to half a game suspension. For the same infraction. On the same night. However Shanny's slickly produced video was the same length.

If you are going to break out the Thor hammer in your infomercials, you better swing it with the same aplomb no matter what. Or as boss put it much better than me; "be careful what you wish for".

I love Shanny. Always have. I even had the name Brendan lined up if my third kid was a boy, not unentirely because of him. It just looks to me like he's trying to make himself the story.

I think the Wiz/Buttercup incident is a perfet example of repeat offender vs. known agitator/punk

Round one goes to the agitator...

DGB tweet, i literally lol'd...

My favorite part of every Mikhail Grabovski concussion is how he lays on the ice after the hit, then suddenly sits up Undertaker-style.

Looks to me like Neil was going towards the puck carrier and for some reason Grabo just barreled into him. He (Neil) saw the "hit" coming at the last moment and braced himself, but he didn't even really hit the guy.

Incidental contact, IMO.

Doesn't really look like the head was even hit either.

2 minutes for interference.

Sestito gets pre-season + 2 games.
Neil gets nothin', as it wasn't clear intent.

huh?

i dont get that one.. that one should've been a bunch of games.. that was an awful hit.. and by a player who nobody would care if you suspended him for 10+.. what better place to take a stand against those types of hits

i guess repeat offender status is critical to shanny seeing as how shelley got 10 for a much less vile hit..

It's going to be interesting to see how this thread evolves once we are playing for real and playoff spots are on the line.

I have my popcorn ready....:boss::pop2:
