I wouldnt mind Vis, but at that point just let a younger guy earn NHL time
I don't know that a puck-moving d-man is what's needed. I hear that powerplay did pretty well against the Penguins..

just heard the interview on vancouver radio with Shea Weber from yesterday
Barry Trotz drove from his offseason home in Vernon to Kelowna to tell Shea the news that Nashville was matching, had cell problems and couldnt find Shea so he ended up driving around Kelowna all day ... checking random gyms and arenas ... finally found him at home in the evening
he shoulda rented a boat and checked the lake ... killed 2 birds with 1 stone and looked for Ogopogo while he was at it
8 mill Per and Weber says he is excited that the team is gonna spend to the cap. Sorry he is a great player but not worth 8 mill per for 14 years.
I would have passed
Well you're probably the only one. Considering what guys like Wideman are making and the fact that the cap will more then likely continue to rise making his cap hit shrink over time any GM with half a brain would be nuts to not sign him to that deal.
Not a big fan of huge amount of years deals is all. 14 yrs? What is Shea Weber gonna be in 14 years? Rob DePietro ring a bell?
What is the average expectancy of a NHL player 4-5 years?

Rick is a better goalie
paying a gazillion dollars in the first year pretty much amounts to a NTC.
Maybe, but if Nashville struggles (or if Poile were to be fired), moving Weber might be an option down the road.
They could certainly demand a ransom with his remaining deal
And the dream of "to Vancouver for less" remains alive.
