My take is Scot will work out lots of players just to have his own report on them. I don't think it means he is looking to add Clausen.

Doing his due diligence no doubt.

Awkward timing with the FLorio article for many Skins fans I'm sure

Everyone seems to be dodging the obvious question with those interesting bits of information coming out now. The question is...Was Kirk a beneficiary of the system or did he bring a unique skillset that powered the offense?

I think everyone needs to take a deep breath, and enjoy the summer. It's a good time to be a Redskins fan don't you think?

SO... we are back to the any one could have done what Kirk did mantra.... Gotta love it. IF thats really the line of thinking.. .they should have saved $20 million and just started Colt McCoy. Im starting to wonder if they wouldnt have been better off leaving Kirk on the bench after all.

He had a skillset not seen in recent years. It is called quick decision making.

Jay Gruden might be the Cesar Millan of NFL QB's...unless your dog is RG3.

Never abandoned that position, except the anyone part. I have always believed that a lot of followers WANT to believe that this player or that one is better than they are. I still say that he is comparable to some of the players that I listed and upset so many of you. I still say that any of those that I listed would be just as good if not better (and this is key) in this offense (A.J. McCarron would break Kirk's records, Clausen is just another version of him).......If (BIG IF) any of this is factual it will only underscore the point. That nearly 20M spent was out of necessity. Clearly, they did not think that he was worth what the market dictated and IMHO offered him a very, very, very, fair deal based on evaluation and ACTUAL value. He should have taken it!!

NOT unique!!

Apparently his skillset was unique, if any one could do what he did... Cousins would have never gotten the chance to start last year dontcha think??

I actually like Kirk, think he's probably a decent guy, but it's hard to get a real measure of a person and player if your heart is involved. I think this alone is the reason why top flight GM's are so difficult to find and keep. Truthfully, it only takes a little imagination to see how current NFL players would fare in the system that a team employs.

Not true, apparently the current GM that everyone seems to place their trust in, also believes that there are others who are quite capable of doing the same thing, if not better!

Again dude, you are either saying our GM is a complete idiot for paying Kirk $20 million to do what any average QB could do. Or Kirk has a skillset that only a hand full of guys has, thus tagging him was a solid option. Now if anyone or almost any one could do it, I agree it was stupid to tag him. But if the kid we paid half a draft to get couldnt do it, and most of the guys you mentioned are currently backups... what exactly are we supposed to think??

I think that Mitziman has the right idea, next year is a long way off, for all we know, working out guys who are similar to Kirk could be a bad sign for Colt!!

Again.. if that is really his thinking.. why tag Kirk at all. Let him walk, get paid by another team and get a 3rd rounder in return. After all, if Colt McCoy could run this team for 1/5th the cost.. tagging Kirk was a monumental fuckup.

How about looking at Kirk as a backup doing starters work! Honestly, dude you really want to bring up that other guy?
