One-year deal for new 49ers CB Shareece Wright is worth $4 million, per source. Includes $1M in incentives

I guess maybe besides a few other little moves I would think this is it for us in free agency. Time to start planning for the draft.

it doesn't say anything about guarantees, and I'm guessing there is little if not none. This allows a cut prior to the season, should others pan out better.

My sentiments exactly. Both starting CB's signed with other teams. Brock, Johnson, and Ward need to step up. Also want to see what Acker and Reaser can do after missing all of last season. If Niners do not draft a WR in the first round, I wouldn't mind pass rusher to help the secondary.

Can't say I am that excited with the latest signing of Pears and Wright. I hope they are both on the bench next season.

Yeah I don't get the Pears and Wright signings.
Seems like marginal players which will just take away from our comp pick calculation.

I would have passed on Reggie Bush too. I would have been fine with Hyde/Hunter/rookies. At this point I'd rather spin the wheels on some rookie RBs.

I would agree. I could take or leave RB. At least RB was productive prior to last year. These other players just appear below average players.

up to now i didn't read any guarantees to either player? IF so, I view these guys as try outs. IF they do well enough to provide back-up services, then it panned out. Clearly, we are not asking these two guys to become solid starters.

If they don't beat out our current back-ups, it was worth the try. Cause Baalke SHOULD always be looking to improve depth.

Erik Pears signed a 2 year / $4,700,000 contract with the San Francisco 49ers, including a $500,000 signing bonus, $1,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $2,350,000.

So Pears is guaranteed 1 million if we cut him. I would say he is a lock to make the team as a backup.

Now I couldn't find if Shareece has any guaranteed money. We just know it's a one year 3 million dollar deal with the possibility of 1 million in incentives. I couldn't find anything on what the incentives would be.

Bush is simply a better version of Hunter and a better receiver as well. Bush will help but the 49er problems on both offense and defense will make Bush's input irrelevant.

Geez, with all the needs now, especially on defense, what to do?

With our horrid offseason on the defensive side, NFL Network seems to think we can get a LB in the 2nd round. Hell, Borland was a 3rd rounder. Possible trade up for Trae Waynes? I've seen him going to Minnesota and Miami.

ok, then Pears will make the 53.

guess we have to view him as replacing Jonathan Martin. ok, not a bad thing.

I'd still stick with BPA rounds 1 to 3 at least.
