Heaven Sent

Heaven Sent

When all seems lost

There is always hope

That's the miracle of life

If everything was a piece of cake

We would'nt appreciate Birthday's each year

We give thanks and make a wish

and wishes come true

Let a fresh year wash over you

Negative energy out....Positive energy All In

Go out and fly a kite in the wind again

Run with some horses in a meadow

Enjoy love under a moonlit sky

Hey you might try sky diving

or just taking a drive

So much beauty to see

Don't be afraid to believe

Brush all the negative energy off your sleeve

Climb a tree and feel the breeze

swim with the fishes in the sea

Have a glass of Iced tea with a good neighbor you don't get to see

Splurge on a jelly doughnut ...damn good if you ask me

Sit at a ballgame and share a story or two with the person sitting next to you

There is just so much you can do

Share a laugh or two...take a kid to the zoo

Love flows through the wind and the trees...and the falling leaves

Don't get bent by someone who does'nt believe yet

Walk through some wet grass before summer passes

It's free ...no money spent....it's all Heaven Sent

From a little toy

It's loads of joy

All the seasons to enjoy....we celebrate

Beer and BBQ's

Friends want their summer days to last even longer

and do that with a sheet out back on the trees

watching old family films as they scream with laughter

Playing stickball in the streets

Peach pie after school under the old tree in the backyard

The sliding door that never quite closes but it stays open just enough for a cool breeze

to blow in on a warm summer night

A mask to wear on Halloween

Candy kept in a old pillow case as you walk the streets to fill it up

I like the little bite size treats...candy corn has gotten so old

Christmas with family

A dinner that is never forgotten together

A warm sunny day fishing with your best friend

Thanksgiving and football

Summer ...baseball...

hot dogs... in the cool light fog of San Francisco

A labor day picnic

Playing Cards after a good desert

Spilling coffee on a brand new shirt

Laughing and dunking a cookie on it

Lots to love and it's all

Dad is gone but not forgotten

Champions today ...tomorrow is promised to no one

Livin' for today

He did just that ...wearing a top hat

Fishing in a fantastic lake

Loved the smell of garlic bread baking

Daily Double at the track

Take home a bundle of cash

Buy a new TV or a 8-Track

Playing stickball in the streets with us kids

Feeding his chickens out back

Walking his dog in the fog

BBQ every other night...steak and chicken a pure delight

Football on Sundays

Dad did some walkin'

Dad did some talk'n

But Dad was a no B.S. kind of guy

Dad is gone but not forgotten

Freedom is our best friend

Times were so sweet

Roll N' Up and Down the EL cruisin' with a smile and beer in the trunk..rock N with friends on the California Coast

Friday and Saturday nights ...Back N Black on the tape deck ...and that girl in the souped up black Pontiac with the pink furry hat on...oh yeah it was on...now cruisin' for the most part is gone in our town...
the EL just doesnt feel the same...it used to be our freedom lane

Cause' back in the day

troubles seemed so far away

and freedom was our best friend

No cell phones back then...just more face to face communication my friends

Family dinner was 6 PM sharp

All the boys down at the park...playing football after dark...with the car lights on...and the girls had their short skirts on..now you hardly see kids playing in the park together laughing free and feeling that freedom spark..especially after dark

We all walked tall

and there seemed to be more respect

Back in the day

Take in a flick at the Drive in movie

Blanket in the back

We whispered in each others ears

A hicky or two ....the blood pumping in our veins

Spicoli ordering pizza in class

That scene really made me laugh

Hard to find a Drive In these days and the back seat is less of a freedom space

Back in the day

troubles seemed so far away

and freedom was our best friend

One 9/11 I woke up and almost threw up

Cowards running planes into buildings ...what the hell is up? ....Fuck !

Things seemed to change

More check points and metal detectors ruining and slowing down our day

Trying to tell us what to wear or say

Not in my early days

All the service people who fought for our rights...what must they of thought?

Freedoms being taken away...cause' some terrorist morons thought they were tough

Somehow we must find a way

To bring all of our freedoms back soon to stay

I dream and pray we get back there together one day

I miss my freedoms taken away

Cause' freedom is our best friend
