what's your beef against Shaka Smart?

I have no personal beef, but I do use my extreme powers of observation to suspect he's a massive buffoon.

Has been pretty mediocre at Texas so far. Was a really hot coaching name just four years ago.

Meanwhile, his predecessor is lighting it up at Tennessee

Not to mention Wade is doing great things at LSU right now. Smart led VCU to the Final 4 if I’m not mistaken. Ever since he took the Texas job I haven’t heard a ton from him. The Longhorns are usually pretty good but not Final 4 good.

fwiw, the only years where VCU finished in the top 30 were with Smart as the HC.

it's become clear with the success Wade and Rhoades are having at their respective jobs that Smart's staff at VCU was loaded with coaching talent

Gotta say, it's interesting as a UConn fan.

The rumor was that was the job he wanted. But Calhoun's move forcing them to take Ollie for at least a year delayed any options.

But Ollie delivered a title and then fell off a cliff. Smart might've been more mediocre, but arguably no banner. But maybe a shorter rebuild to the next title.

Baffling how the trainwreck of Ollie might've been the better hire.

Texas had about 137 people in the stands for this evenings game vs TCU.

Really thought he'd do better at Texas but... not to be I guess.

Hope they hire Beilein, make the Big12 better and add some spice to WVU v Texas.
