I think he's right about that to a point. The best player in the game is always going to get criticized for a bad playoff game. It's just how it works.

Heck, people still talk about how poorly Kobe shot the ball vs. Boston in Game 7 in 2010 even though he grabbed 15 rebounds and the Lakers won the game.

Eventually, Lebron will no longer be the best in the game and much of the criticism will move from him to KD or whoever the next "best player in the game" is.

Of course they do. That's how it works. It's just more pronounced today because of 24/7 media coverage and social media.

As a Lakers fan, I've seen several Lakers players who were "the best in the game" get criticized. From Magic (Tragic Johnson) to Kareem to Shaq and then Kobe. It is what it is.

I'm sure Celtics fans remember people saying that "if Larry Bird were black, he'd just be another good player".

Just remember, it means two things and they are both good:

1.) Your team is relevant.
2.) The best player in the world, plays for your team.

Durant, CP3 and Harden play for teams that are currently relevant, but none of them are considered the best player in the world. In fact, out of the 3, the only one who even gets mentioned in the conversation is Durant. But I don't think anyone is saying he's actually better than Lebron, just that he's closer than anyone else.
