Chiefs Baby Chiefs!!!
If going to be a great and sad Saturday. 30 seniors playing last game in the old Grey Lady on 10th and Vine!!
Backup quarterbacks lose games for their teams all the time, and most of them are better than Fyfe. If he can't keep the defense honest our work-in-progress offensive line won't be able to block 9 in the box. That isn't an indictment of our OL or our coaches. The blame for that rests squarely on the shoulders of two guys in Ohio.I hate to say it but there's no way TA will be ready Saturday. He needs to sit this one out and be ready for Iowa. And that offensive line needs to step up and make some holes to rn the ball tomorrow.
Fyfe won't lose this game tomorrow he's just a back up. It's the five in front of him or the one in the pressbox that will lose this game.
It's not official but I'd bet on it.Is it official that Fyfe is the starter? High School teammate of Foltz.
Maryland does have to watch out, the only tape they have him is the Purdue game where he threw for over 400. Fyfe can throw, he just has a hard time telling the difference in jerseys.
If it is Fyfe, I expect him to have a good game to honor Sam.
9 win season for sure. Nebraska wins by 14+.
Fork Iowa. 10 win season is in the binoculars.
Sorry but I don't buy it. IMO teams with backup quarterbacks playing lose games. There's 11 guys out there and when a leader goes down it's up to the other ten to pick up the slack.Backup quarterbacks lose games for their teams all the time, and most of them are better than Fyfe. hopefully a heavy dose of the run from our offense this week, whether it's TA or Fyfe at QB. we'll see, it always seems like early in games even bad defenses stuff our run plays.
maryland has struggled offensively against decent defenses, so hopefully we can bring the wood there.

Fyfe doesn't run like TA but we have running backs who do. That means our line needs to provide the holes for them to get through and the time for Fyfe to make the handoff without being rushed.
Fyfe can complete passes but our line needs to give him protection, time to make his passes without being rushed.
I am confident our defense will have no problem giving our offense opportunities to get on the field tomorrow. Once they do it's up to our "work in progress" line to step up.
Of course that's my opinon only but I'm not going to blame this game on the one kid who has the least experience on the field.

I'm not blaming him for being bad, it's not his fault he is in this position. At a school like Nebraska, a player of his caliber should never be called upon to do anything other than run scout team. That's where your logic breaks down. Most other schools actually have a D1 player as their backup. Don't think a backup can lose a game despite talent around them? See Joe Bowserman circa 2011 or whatever year that was.Sorry but I don't buy it. IMO teams with backup quarterbacks playing lose games. I want to make it clear I'm not hating on Langsdorf. He's called some good games and he's had game where the team's play prevented him from calling what would work. He has had some head scratchers too but I was just saying he needs to keep it simple.
