If an interior lineman has 19 sacks in 3 yrs that`s pretty friggin good. If you mean Denver will be saying "mistake" with those stats, then yes. Agree.

There going to use him as a DT ????????????? He is nuts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but yep that will be great numbers as a DT .. still kind of pricy ..

Trevor Pryce hated playing DT ..

I wish him luck but he should do alright(IMO that is what he is Alright ) but them bucks man he better produce .

Just listening to Malik Jackson being interviewed by Big Al and D-Mac on 104.3 the Fan. Says he and all the guys that have left really wanted to stay in Denver but had to go for the money. He clarified his earlier comments in that if the Broncos had put a deal in front of him at the beginning of last season, he would have signed anything to stay. He also felt the same way about Osweiler. However, since the Broncos came to him with an offer with only 4 games left in the season, he said he knew that's when we was going to test free agency. His comment was "it's the Broncos way" (to not do deals early with a lot of the players)

He continues to sound a little ridiculous when he talks about "taking care of his family", as if you can't do that with 11 million per year but he was pretty humble and thankful for all the Broncos did for him. He said he's nervous to not be playing with Von, D-Ware and others but it's the business of the NFL. He finished with saying that he would be coming back for the ring ceremony and will always be thankful for his time in Denver.

Thanks MileHigh - I don't think I would have read that if you hadn't posted it. I'd say it is a very rare fellow who doesn't take the money. Besides - sometimes these guys come back in two or three years because they were cut for salary cap reasons.

Yeah this is Elway's way of doing business. Wait as long a possible to sign their own and hope for a home town discount. Right or wrong it's the way Broncos have decided to approach players in the final year.

You'd think we had the 2nd coming of Reggie White here.

Well then I was wrong about how long .. still he went thinking he got wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more money he will not .

42 mil he could of got here .. he will never see all that contract if he does I will have to see it to belive it !!

I said the same about Beadles .. Yep I was right

Look at Redskins and all those huge mega deals .. that was not good for either parties ..

I will bet wolf will get more money though out his NFL carrier by a long ways !

Have you ever broken an arm patting yourself on the back?

It is very common for a player to sing a long term deal and not see all of the money. It is all about the signing bonus. I don't think anyone truely believed Beadles would play for Jax for 5 year and JT for jax 6 years. Not the way the NFL works nowadays.

I don't think it has to be a bad thing to move around a bit and experience different parts of the country. In my adult life, I've lived in Tulsa for 17 years, 5 years in Virginia Beach and 25 in Colorado Springs area. Each one has been good - each one has enriched my life.

I do think it is more than likely Malik gets cut after year two - then he can pocket the guaranteed cash and come back as a Bronco roster filler for the end of his career - works out that way some time.

Crash,

Here's the balancing argument against the criticism that players need to sign contracts to keep the team together - even if it is for less - than the market value. If the injured players - guys injured busting their butt for the fans and team - are guaranteed lost earnings due to the injury vs. impairment to the body overall - then the teams would earn the loyalty that you expect the players to show at contract renewal. But, the truth is if you are injured playing the game - the shove a couple of months of pay and send you on your way.

Terrell Davis' settlement would have been very large - Otis Armstrong too is you want an example from the 70s.

You know I thought about it and Jackson might be alright .. They singed him for 6 sacks a year ..

He might actually improve . with out Von and his wrecking crew he just might have a hair longer ...

Glad he got his money I guess he has a chance ..

I wish him well ..Other than playing against us
