Daniel and Henrik... You were the two best all around players we ever had. I thank you for 17 glorious years as Canucks. I'll never forget your play and that you are the hall of fame players you became. I am proud you played every game as Canucks, I'm proud we drafted you and I'm #proud of everything you accomplished, and you did accomplish alot here. We will never experience players quite like you ever again.. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU....... 22 AND 33 in our programs and #1 in our hearts...

Wow the 1999 draft was brutally bad. Outside of the twins, there were 3 decent pros picked in the 7th round (Zetterberg, Vrbata and Erat). Other than that, the player with the most career points was Martin Havlat.

We crap on the Bruins for their dubious three in a row selection recently, but the Isles were epically bad with the 3 you mentioned. They chose: Tim Connolly, Taylor Pyatt, and Branislav Mezei. In the top 10.

But nothing beats the ineptitude of the Leafs that year. Drafted 9 players, 8 of whom never played an NHL game. The exception? Pierre Hedin, 8th rounder, who got 3 games in 2003-04.
Which is why they swore off the draft for the next decade+ and traded for Brian Leetch and Aki Berg instead.

Since I've seen it two or three times here, are the Sedin's HHOF'ers?
when the HHOF sets the bar at Cam Neely (694 pts) then absolutely.
plus gold and siiver at Olypmics
each with an Art Ross trophy
one has a Ted Lindsay, the other has a Hart

There was also a certain goaltender who can cure leprosy taken in the 5th round.

I would probably vote them in. And since you mentioned points, the following are all the eligible players NOT in the HHOF with more points than the twins:

Pierre Turgeon
Jeremy Roenick
Beernie Nicholls
Vinnie Damphousse ( for you @Comeds )
Rod Brind'Amour
Theo Fleury
Dave Taylor
Keith Tkachuk
Ray Whitney
Pat Verbeek

lol

nice try at some sort of shot

neely redefined the power forward position.

he had a span where he scored 176 goals in 216 games (287 pts in those 216 games). thats gretzky shit.

one of only what, 2 players to score 50 in 50? (I was at goal 48 that year vs ottowa).

goals per game you say? neelys 14th all time between rocket richard and some guy named dionne.

NHL All-Time Goals per Game Leaders

espo - .559 per game
neely - .544 per game

youre very welcome.

Exhibit B would likely be Clark Gillies with his 697 points - Now he was a pretty big part of the Isles dynasty years, but so were several other Islanders who haven't made the Hall of Fame.

Does the package deal aspect hurt them in voting though? What I mean by that is, when you've got two individual players who are probably each borderline, does the fact that voters might be hard-pressed to choose one over the other - and also hesitant to devote two of the limited slots available each year - make them less likely to get votes?

And about 300th on the assists per game stat. His numbers are fairly similar to Tim Kerr, and he ain't getting in. Oh, and Kerr is 10th in goals per game played.
