I was kind of hoping for a farewell tour of sorts next season, but the Sedins don't need and likely don't want that extra type of attention taking away from the team. Two great players on the ice and even better people off the ice, I for one am going to miss them. Enjoy retirement Daniel and Henrik.

I would have preferred if Loui Eriksson and Brandon Sutter retired :noidea:

/prices for last home game tickets (thursday) rising rapidly on stubhub

Henrik's number should be raised to the rafters six minutes earlier than Daniel's.

In a different world, the Sedins leave Vancouver 3 years ago and contend for the remainder of their careers while Vancouver hits reset and is contending today. From the outside looking in everybody fucked this all up but I suppose if they're happy with where they are that's all that matters.

I'll forever wonder what would've happened had Tampa just taken a Sedin first overall.

Burke gets all the credit for swinging that deal to bring them both to the canucks but gallagher said this morning 4 or 5 teams were trying to work a deal to get them both and all the moving parts of a deal were being overseen by the sedins swedish agent and mike barnett

Sounds like the agents were going to get them on the same team no matter what and they had other options

Just looking at the teams with multiple picks in the top ten in 99, I'd guess the Rangers and Isles for sure (Isles had three picks in the top ten!), and TB probably was trying too before realizing they couldn't get the 2nd pick from Atlanta.

Wow the 1999 draft was brutally bad. Outside of the twins, there were 3 decent pros picked in the 7th round (Zetterberg, Vrbata and Erat). Other than that, the player with the most career points was Martin Havlat.

We crap on the Bruins for their dubious three in a row selection recently, but the Isles were epically bad with the 3 you mentioned. They chose: Tim Connolly, Taylor Pyatt, and Branislav Mezei. In the top 10.

But nothing beats the ineptitude of the Leafs that year. Drafted 9 players, 8 of whom never played an NHL game. The exception? Pierre Hedin, 8th rounder, who got 3 games in 2003-04.
