Now Keith had to go kill it, why does a player have to be injured for it to be suspendable? If the NHL really wants to end this garbage they should suspend for the action not the outcome.

I agree, but I think it should be a two-tier approach (not to be confused with two-tier Oilers fans):

1. Apply the supplementary discipline for the action and
2. Tack on more games based on the severity of the injury

/It gets a little tricky with concussions, mind you.

Yeah he done.

I'd say 0% chance hes back this series.

And extremely unlikely that the suspension allows him to even play beyond this series should Jets advance.

Totally agree suspension no matter what and add on for injury.

Yeah concussions makes it tougher but honestly they should default to the worst case scenario. Or even after the suspension is over and the injured player is still out with a concussion tack on perpetual fines until the player can return.

Jesus christ that has gotta be the longest charge in the history of hockey ... beeline from his own blue line
Wow I finally agree with a comment from Keith Jones.

The sportsnet panel was lucid for a change analyzing the hit too lol

And i kinda take back the “longest charge in history bit”. Seeing the iso i dont think scheifele was thinking hit all the way down the ice. But when he gets to the jets faceoff dots, he sure as fuck adjusts his skate position, and then goes full bore for the charge/hit

Guy was a terrible hockey player and a lousy goon.
Perfect for the job. I wonder if he's just the clown face for Bettman & Co

But he attended Princeton (not sure if he graduated).

No attempt to play puck, just went for hit. Shitty play.

That's the thing for me, if you wanted to try to stop the guy for scoring, don't you dive with your stick extended in the hopes of trying to hopefully get lucky and get a piece of the puck?

I think if he dove, stick first, he had a good chance of tipping puck away.
