More evidence of why they need a goalie in that Situation Room.

The question is, was the goaltender prevented from playing his position. No. He chose not to by paying attention to his stick being tied up with Duchene. Anyone who has ever played goalie could see that. He looked to the right at his stick which was in Duchene's legs. The play went to his left.

Duchene wasn't in the blue paint though until he got pushed into Georgiev by Makar. A forward is entitled to take up that position. The war room totally botched the call because they don't want to make the refs look bad (too late for that).

I don't know, looked like Duchene initially hit Georgiev on his own - doesn't really matter whether it's in the crease or not. That usually gets called. Maybe it should matter where contact is made, but it usually doesnt.

I will say that ref went to the Mick McGeough school of waving off a goal.

But could it be argued that he was prevented from playing his position because his stick was tied up with Duchene which normally doesn’t happen?

Agreed. Dallas was the better team tonight 3rd period on, so I'd say it was a deserved win as well.
