Totally. Look at the longevity.

Seriously, though, I couldn't in good conscience give the title to Juan Samuel in 1987, and Ryno and Whitaker both had really disappointing seasons. Steve Sax and Frank White both strong 1986 seasons, but then just disappeared in 1987. Maybe I should have given the title back to Willie Randolph, as that was his last great year.

Also, that streak extends to 1954 if you ignore the war years.

Publicity couldn't possibly have less to do with this. I have a shitton of respect for Pedroia, but Cano is just better.
