You're so right Ray. Patton caught that pass on the first series and then that was it. Was he even targeted after that catch? I know it's difficult to get targets when you have Boldin, Crabtree and Davis, but they need to target him at least four or five times next week. Whoever Sherman locks on will be neutralize, especially the way he holds on every passing play.

Agreed about Patton.

Also, Patton only played on 16 snaps. Tough to get many more targets as a 3rd receiver when only playing that much.

would've guessed 3-1/2 or 4 so sounds about right.

Seattle is 1/2 better than SF (based on the regular season) and they get 3 for HF advantage. since SF had two tough (extreme cold, eastern time zone) games versus one, another 1/2 is reasonable.

Both teams appear to be reasonably healthy too.

as Bowman and others have said, both teams know each other well, so its just who executes? who executes on that 'given' Sunday.

this is the kind of game where ST return and coverage units, become a larger factor.

I think its going to be about which quarterback turns the ball over less. The defenses will both play well, it will be about which QB can get it done.

Given how physical Sherman plays my guess is he is on Boldin to try and neutralize Boldin who can be just as physical.

I'd be curious how they'd cover VD with Patton, Crabs, and Boldin on the field. Do they go nickel to use a DB or take their chances with a LB? Gore could stay in and block if necessary.
