I think the name will grow on us... My grandpa said that people were dumbfounded when the city of Seattle chose the name, "Seahawks" back in 1976... He said, people were like, "WTF is a Seahawk?" It definitely has grown on all Hawks fans...

saw an article headline on this scrolling through Facebook and thought it was an onion parody headline (or some other site) until I noticed it was the king5 website.

I have no issue with the zero carbon pledge or the cause they're trying to promote, but to be frank that couldn't they have thought of something more creative to name the arena that promotes the cause? "Climate Pledge Arena" just does not roll of the tongue. They would've been better off naming it Amazon Arena.

Also couldn't they have thought of a better design for the arena logo? I hate to be that guy but it's just so ugly.

Not this year. In 2021, that'll be the case- along with an entry draft. Until then, the Sockeye-Kraken-Metro-Steelhead can concentrate on saving the world with their stadium naming.

It sure seems like the team name will finally be revealed Thursday, at least, as a video released Wednesday evening on the pro hockey expansion franchise’s Twitter account points to a big announcement at 9 a.m. in the morning.
