The entertaining references are obvious, mostly overplayed already, and I suppose "Kraken" makes for an intense pre-game buildup...but I would have preferred Sockeyes. Not going to get too wrapped up in the name though. Looking forward to seeing the team in the NHL, especially if it can somehow remain apolitical and just hockey.

I’m with you on that one, the Seattle Sockeyes rolls together... Sure it’s not an intimidating name, but it fits the area, and it flows with Seattle ... Kraken ? man, that’s like the Dragons in the other football league, not a fan of that .... Now we’re gonna have Medusa masks being worn on the road ...

Alright. More info to digest. This might be a handful but bear with me. I have a point.

There are ways to "Jump" into the top 3 in the NHL draft without being one of the 3 worst teams of that year. I will explain with the following sencerio(sp)

Let's say, for argument sakes, you finish 21-22 with a record of 34-40-8 ( W-L-OT loses) and are good enough for the 7th pick, depending if everything goes in order

Florida, Miami, finished with a Record of 34-42-6. Good enough for 6th.

In the lottery if Florida gets the 7th pick. You guys jumped into the top 3.

Now to another part. This might take longer to explain.

In the CHL. You have to be 16 to start playing "Full time". However you can apply for "Exceptional talent" and start at 15. Few have, in the Nhl I can count with Laughinfere ( sp) included and got it granted.

I can't tell you what qualifies a player for it because I can't find it anywhere. If you are granted Exceptional talent status. Pretty much a lock your first overall pick

I tell you this because there are Next big prospects in 2022 draft, Shane Wright (Kingston OHL), and 2023 draft, Connor Bedard ( Regina WHL)

Alright for expansion draft purposes. I quote the following

Win now: It starts with Net minder, goalie, and underrated talent.

During the 2015-16 and 16-17, Pittsburgh had a Quinumdrim(sp). Do you keep Paying Marc-Andre Flurey, who had brought them 3 Stanley cups but also brought them alot of playoff failure, or do you go with the young upstart Matt Murray, who ( with flurey) brought them 2 Stanley cups.

They decided to keep Murray and , I'll touch on this next, pay the Golden Knights to take Flurey, who IMO was one of the key players in their 2017-18 Stanley cup run. I don't know any of those players who could be available this year.

If you watch the Playoffs. Vancouver had a dilemma on their hands going into FA, which started today, on do you protect your net minder now, Jacob Markstrom, or you goalie of the future, Thatcher Demko, from the draft.

Basically Markstrom walked, signed with Calgary, and Vancouver signed Brayden Holtby. Holtby does not have a No Movement Clause, meaning he can be draft eligible, and here is his contract

2020-21: $2.9 million
2021-22: $5.7 million

So Basically he can be yours.
