I think dodgers could get a raynolds deal..done..really.
Yeah so mariners have done well so far....![]()
Mariners sat out MLB’s free-agent frenzy, and now must deal with fallout
The Mariners' approach to free agency in an offseason that has seen skyrocketing contracts has a portion of their fan base up in arms, and understandably so.www.seattletimes.com
The Mariners went balls to the wall in trading guys for money to sign Ohtani last time. If they have punted 2 straight off seasons to try to get him again then that is dumb. Good PR to justify it.![]()

Exactly. Iy also says they won't sign any big players (not super free agents, just good free agents) the rest of the decade. Because it doesn't matter if they sign them now and the contracts run through those years or they sign them in 2024 or 2025 or 2026 and they run through those years. The problem would be the same or worse because contracts only go up. And for those saying stay the trade route, who are we going to have left to trade? Plus you need those guys to balance the other contracts. So Mariners are just punting the rest of this decade. Enjoy it.The Mariners went balls to the wall in trading guys for money to sign Ohtani last time. If they have punted 2 straight off seasons to try to get him again then that is dumb. And 1 thing on fiscal responsibility. It was pointed out in the article, but if the front office is so concerned about fiscal responsibility then how can they possibly justify Castillo or Julio’s contracts?
