Darby Swanson would be a good fit

Honestly I really wanted Bogaerts, but yeah I'd want nothing to do with the contract the Padres paid him.

They've really overbid on a lot of free agents this winter and unless ownership is willing to continue spending money, I don't know how effective of an approach it will be. Apparently they offered Judge 10 years $400m... As incredible as Judge is, he has had what? Two fully healthy seasons? That's a huge commitment to give to a guy who is on the wrong side of 30 and is a sure bet to miss time here and there.

I don't think Judge will have a Stanton-esque decline, but it's worth noting that they're both very similar players and he has fallen off a lot since turning 30.

I also wanted Bogaerts but now that he's off the board I'd like the M's to go after Darby Swanson. For the rotation it be nice to add Rodon and add another 1 or 2 pen guys.
