I've got to say watching Mike Morse play out there in right field makes me cringe at times. Would be nice to see him moved to 1B.

Notable moves/news

-Noesi sent down to Tacoma, likely the main reason being to give us an extra pen arm on the road trip

-Danny Farquhar, selected from Tacoma now with the big club. Farquhar who was acquired in the Ichiro trade, has 6 saves and a 2.25 era with Tacoma.

-To make room for Farquhar, Pryor was transferred to the 60 day DL. Pryor is expected to return around the 60 day mark and he is already about a month in.

-Kinney who is also on the 60 day DL, started his rehab assignment in Tacoma last night pitching a scoreless inning.

Aside from the bullpen
-Guti started his rehab assignment Thursday. Based on Wedge's comment his rehab stint may be a lengthy one as, he stated he needs to see him play consistently before returning. He DH'd Thursday and was schedule to be in right on Friday but quickly moved back to DH. Speculation was because of the field conditions being turf.

-Morse will return to lineup today after missing yesterday with an Eye infection

Wow looks like the Mariner board has developed since the last time I checked in here! More of a NFL fan MLB fan but I'm going to checking in.

Join in Harold. This board is not getting the action the Seahawks board is getting, but we can always use another voice.

I will join in. Haven't seen you posting lately on the Seahawk board, slow time of year, I know, but more the reason to add a little to the board.

I think its time to end Ryans time here. His hitting has been always suspect, but lately his off balance throws have been getting uglier and uglier...

8 hits in his last 19 at bats. That alone will probably buy him another month here. That's the way we roll in Seattle.

The Montero experiment needs to end or be put on hold. We should send him down to Tacoma to DH and bring up Jesus Sacre to back up Shoppach. Dont think Zunino is ready and I doubt we see him before Super 2 anyway.

Hind sight is 20-20 but last year when we had Olivo and Jaso would have been the perfect time to have Montero send down to Tacoma to work on things and I am not sure why management was so unwilling to do that. Not sure why we are so unwilling to pull the plug on guys who are struggling, instead we just continue to run them out there and hope they improve.
I also think either Franklin or Trunifel should be brought up and Andino should be DFA'd.

Good, now bring up one of our 'better' hitting shortshops (Truinfell or Franklin) and let him platoon with Ryan for the rest of the year. We have to see if one of these guys can play at the MLB level.

Not a good sign for the Padres.

What a disaster this franchise is, I've never seen an MLB team be this active with sending down/calling up players in May.

Year 5 of "rebuilding" seems to be going well.

It was on this date back in 1999 that, in front of 56,530 fans, the 1,765th and last major league game is played at the Kingdome with the Mariners beating the Rangers, 5-2. The final contest at 'the Accident on the Occidental' features a round-tripper and a home run saving catch by Ken Griffey, Jr.
