I don't know if they were one of the best defenses of all time but they definitely had the single greatest defensive performance in the history of the Super Bowl. Especially when you consider that they did this against arguably the greatest statistical offense in NFL history.

Tennessee 14th ranked D
St Louis 15th ranked D ( 2x )

- This means 13 of Seattles 18 games came vs teams in the top 50% of defenses in the league AND 10 games vs teams in the top 25% of defenses in the league. Denver currently ranks 19th in defense, in games vs teams in the bottom 50% of defenses in football Seattles offense is scoring 34.8 ppg. So its safe to assume that Seattle will likley score 31-35 points against Denver. Will that be enough to win?? Who knows. BUT those are the actual facts of the matter.
