In 95 our line-up was epically awesome ... Jay, Tino, Griff, Edgar, Cora, Sojo, PayRod, ... Their is just no comparison too that line-up ... This Mariners team has 3 good hitters... Everyone else is sub-par and can't get on #@$^ing base... But wow, this isn't new ... M's offense has sucked for about 14 years now....
Im with you.... But Aroid was Turrible that year. Fun fact, when Gar hit "the double" Arod and his .200 avg were on deck. Had gar not got it done. We probably don't have a season 20 years ago for this years franchise to try and milk some ticket sales out of.
In years past, it seemed like every time a bad mouthed the team or a player, they turned it around. But it hasn't worked this year. Knino and Cannot have been my two favorite targets, but I'm not getting any results this year.Maybe you should start bad-mouthing them again.
Yeah payroid wasn't great that year.... but man that Mariners 95 line-up was good ... Could a been a dynasty in the making if ownership actually cared...
Signing Cruz shouldn't give him any brownie points. That was not a stroke genius on his part. That was an act of desperation.Sporting News GM Rankings:
20- Jackie Z up from 28 from last year. Woohoo!

He gets credit for the Smith-for-Maurer trade. And, he gets credit for the Happ-for-Saunders trade.
And his inability to fix left field shopuld probably not be held against him. It's not like any other GM in Mariner history has been able to fix left field. Didn't Niehous used to say that Griffey had something like 70 different guys play beside him in LF?
So maybe Jack moving up is somewhat justified. But moving up 8 spots? Nah, probably not.
Maybe. Griffey was going to fall apart whether he was traded to Cincy or stayed here. He played the game so hard and that style took its toll. But if they had kept ARod and RJ, who knows how it might have turned out? Can you imagine ARod and RJ on that 2001 team?
How about keeping Tino Martinez and Jeff Nelson in our bullpen ... That core of Griff, Tino, Edgar and Aroid and Buhner, should a stayed together longer... It would a been scary ...
Well, Tino and ARod weren't ever starters at the same time. Rodriguez became the starting short stop in '96, Tino was in NY that year. So was Nelson for that matter.
Jose Cruz Jr Curse????
