Season Predictions

We're about 1 month out and I can't wait any longer. It's time to start making predictions for how the season is going. Normally I'm a realist, probably borderline pessimist. I generally predict something like 3 to 4 losses each year and we end up doing better.

Well not this year. I'm going all in. We're going undefeated or we'll lose one game. We'll play in the Orange Bowl after getting left out of the title game in favor of a one loss team from a better conference. LT will get invited to the Heisman ceremony but will finish 2nd or 3rd in voting.

So there. I will now knock on wood and go do an anti-jinx dance.

OK dont get pissy ( here it comes)... I have you guys losing @ Clemson and @ Pitt. I think Pitt will be solid and its early when VT sometimes drops 1 they shouldnt.

I don't think it's a bad analysis, actually. Pitt is better than people think, and you're right about that being the time of year when VT tends to drop an underrated one, or at least get a scare from a team taken too lightly.

Pitt is terrible and has the worst quarterback in FCS and FBS combined. They will be lucky to get triple digits in yards against us.

Cincy could shock though.

I think alot of it depends on if Graham is back to 100%, Sunseri isnt great but he isnt anywhere close to terrible. Pitt played us tough at Iowa last year and Sunseri played well. His numbers only really trailed off after Graham got hurt.

Pitt this year reminds me alot of Iowa in 2009. A veteran QB with a penchant for turning it over in the past, solid defense and good running game coming off a season where they lost 6 games in the regular season but 5(?) of the losses were by 5 points or less ( Iowa, ND, Cincy, WVU, Utah??). Pitt could have easily been 9-3 or 10-2 last year.

Listen, I work at Pitt. I go to a lot of games and watch just about all of them. Ray Graham is the real deal but the O Line lost a lot. I know that Sunseri may have looked good in that one game against you but your defense gave them every single underneath route and then couldn't tackle after the catch.

Sunseri is horrific. HORRIFIC!

Pitt lost to Cincinnati last year by 3 points. But you're probably right. You really want to win the Cincinnati game, since it's at FedEx.

The only thing that concerns me about Pitt is the fact that they were a bitch to deal with back in the BE, but that was eons ago.

To hell with this...this is the year damnit..I think about the year Texas won it all and then auburn a few years ago...strong defense and a special quarterback...those are the keys...Logan Thomas and our d-line will win the game for us against Clemson...our entire defense wins the game against fsu...no slip ups because we have leadership on both sides of the ball...

I think there will be one or two games where the O-line just can't get it going enough to provide effective offense, even if Logan is on point. Add me to the 11-2 crowd, with most likely Clemson and --to go out on a limb-- Miami being the losses.

No one else is scared of GT? I dont think VT has stopped the triple option yet. And this team tends to struggle in September.
