My problem is that I read this morning that since 2011, SEA has had 7 players fail drug tests and 6 be suspended, with Sherman being the only fugitive. That is the second most PED tests for a team since 2011 in the NFL. You have one guy, maybe two get popped before a hard line must be drawn and guys get cut. Pete has allowed his "be competitive" schtick to extend past the football field and although we are talking about grown ass men, he is the leader so it falls on him as well. Especially if we are talking 7 players in two seasons.

HGH testing remains a thorny issue around the NFL. Nearly two years after the NFL and NFL Players Association announced an agreement regarding the need for testing, there still is no mechanism in place to test players.

While the two sides battle over the details, one NFL player says HGH use is going up. An NFC starter told Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Tuesday that he believes 10 to 15 players on each NFL team use the banned substance.

"It's like clockwork nowadays," the player said. "Not tested and it's easy to get. Nowadays, dude? In 2013? (Expletive) yeah. I'm just being real."
Dunne's article does a good job providing background on the issue, and we recommend reading it. But it doesn't break much new ground other than calling HGH use "rampant" and "prevalent." The anonymous player is just one of thousands.

"It's a guess," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told Around The League about the estimate. "No one knows the extent of use because the union has blocked our agreement to test for HGH for two years and counting."

Here's the deal, most likely your Niners have a few players atleast using something namely HGH due to the NFL cannot even test for that.

So when looking at something like Adderall compared to roids or HGH is silly and to even suggest that many NFL players are not using something is outright ignorance.

Actually down playing the use of Adderall by Seahawk players by saying other teams and players are using HGH is the most ignorant thing in your post. We can only go on what is out there as fact. And the facts are, more than one Seahawk has been caught using Adderall. If and when players start testing positive for HGH, then we can revisit that discussion. Until then you should find a better way to justify the use of Adderall by Seahawk players...

I have no doubt it's widespread which is why the NFLPA is dragging it's feet on the issue and the NFL itself isn't demanding something get done right away as they are content to show they are doing something and letting the NFLPA take the blame if it doesn't get done.

The issue with the Seahawks is now the question is when you have that many caught in such a short span is it more rampant on the Seahawks than other teams or are their players just stupid cheaters?

It's unlikely the NFL tests the Seahawks any more or different from other teams and other teams haven't had issues with positive tests like the Hawks have.

Because the Seahawks have been guilty of using Adderall as a PED on 6 different occasions... and because a Green Bay Packer talks about how people on his team use HGH like clockwork...

In your mind you seriously connect these dots to say that the 49ers players are using HGH?

Ha Ha, man the last acts of a desperate man trying to fling shit everywhere to distract people from the known cheating his team does...

Trolls these day.

Some people like to paint in extremes. Every team is doing the same as the Seahawks. Only the Seahawks are doing it as much. The NFLPA is hiding its players' use. The NFLPA is just protecting its players from unnecessary searches. The NFL doesn't want to test at all because of profits. There's been no effort to install such tests. The NFL just wants to look good. Etc.

It's likely a bit of all of those. There likely are enough uncaught players in the league to represent all the teams. Seattle players probably are stupid enough to get caught. Some are using it like the rest of the league, some are using it more and stupidly. Either way, it makes the Hawks and NFL look bad. The NFLPA probably does have some legitimate concerns about testing and the NFLPA probably does see the benefit monetarily from better production from its players, benefitted from use. (I say probably because turning a blind eye and actually seeing it are two different things, but they likely know somewhere.) The NFL does protect its image, but drug tests have been resisted and would be a good thing. There also is no reason really to fully trust the NFL, either.

We ultimately have four groups - Players, NFL, fans, and media. All benefit from each other and all have reasons to distrust or use the others. It's hard to get things done because one the group "enforcing" the rules might not really want the rules, the group being forced upon doesn't want it (but can't openly support the use), the group (TV and fans) that pays the players and league is split (some don't care, some benefit from HGH players, etc.), and the media has no say in it besides reporting the other three. The media, of course, can be slanted and it could use pressure to influence, but it's limited.

If the Seahawks have so many players using a substance like Adderall, that can be tested for, I wonder how many use HGH, a substance that can't be tested for?

Ignorance is believing the drug all those SEA players tested positive for was Adderall. They SAY its Adderall but the CBA prohibits the NFL from releasing the drug that failed said test. For these athletes image, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was some form of steroid and Adderall has become the popular, less "cheat-y" sounding drug.
