Giants placed Jonathan Sanchez on the 15 day DL with left bicep tendinitis. Interesting timing with Zito set to make his return on Tuesday's double header. But it's yet another injury, hopefully one not to serious because if the Giants had any of intention of dealing Sanchez, they may be shot if he can't return soon.

Interesting, after last nights game, Sanchez said he get fine, that he wasn't injured. Bochy had said that they were considering skipping his next start or even moving him to the pen, a la 2009. They eventually decided on the DL stint.

Coming in to this season the starters you'd think were the most susceptible to dead-arm syndrome were Sanchez and Bumgarner. So there's a possibility this is a legit "injury". Pretty convenient timing though.

I can't speak to his velocity, but his mechanics are WAY off. Also, there was a marked decline in control beginning three starts back. I never pitched with tendonitis, but a couple of teammates did and they both had trouble with mechanics too -- anecdotal but I (want to?) believe the Giants on this one.
