Foles definitely took a step back last year -- but, let's be honest, did anyone think 27/2 was repeatable? I certainly didn't. His play would have been much better if the line wasn't a sieve in front of him for most of his starts. I definitely think that he can be a 30/10 guy more often than not -- and especially in Chip's offense. He also makes FAR less poor decisions than Sanchez does with the football.

This.

I'll eat my hat if I'm wrong but I think the issues with Foles were completely overblown. In time i thought for sure he could crack the top 10 every year. And I understand you want a guy who fits your system but you ship the guy off before you had a chance to see what you really had. Especially when he showed he can play lights out.

Chip has no patience for someone that doesn't WANT to be here; doesn't listen and show strong motivation to want to be here; or anyone that shows diva tendencies. He is a college coach, and I think strongly is still in the midset of the type of players you see in college (unpaid kids willing to do anything the coach says and will ask how high, when asked to jump).

Foles didn't want to be here. I don't see that anything else matters, given that.

Foles may have developed into that here. I was certainly on board with that. But Bradford is better.

I think any competent QB can thrive in this offense. Let's just get the OL fixed and give him some good WRs. Need at least one stud WR and a good OG.

I like Foles but everyone keeps saying we haven't seen enough of him. Between playing, practice, meeting, and film study Chip has seen more than enough to know Foles. If Chip is moving him it is because Chip needs something different. I doubt it is because Foles doesn't have potential.

The only way this question will be answered is when the season starts.

I agree, E-Nut. Foles (great guy, ala Tebow), is a good QB, but average. Bradford has a quicker release, and although not a runner, he has better escapability from the pocket than Nick does. Quicker decisions, and release, are the differences between the two. That's it, as far as I'm concerned, which doesn't matter anything, because it's what concerns Chip that matters. I think that Bradford is the guy, and Chip drafts his QB of the future next month in the middle rounds.

Chip Kelly likes to run the read-option. Would you rather do that with Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez or Marcus Mariota?

He wants a mobile qb to make the offense work. That's why we continued to see Foles on the keeper displaying his "three yards and no defenders around him cloud of dust" at least a few times a game. Chip won't throw it out of the playbook, he wants his qb to keep the defense honest on the backside of the play.

I would take Foles in a heartbeat. His regression if you could call it that was way overblown.

You have to remember that no matter how good Sanchez looks sometimes, he will still end up having the same amount of TD's to turnovers. That is insane.

Sort of like Romo when the game was on the line.

Foles meanwhile was usually money with the game on the line...
