The question now becomes.

Qucik or Jones in Game 3?

Jonathan Quick without a doubt - if you're going with the backup then you have conceded the series

Not true, Penguins pulled Fleury last year and that worked out for them, for a while.

I admit, I have not watched much of this series, just the highlights of each goal.

I have long contended that Quick was destined for a rapid descent from stardom, and looked at his style as vulnerable to lateral movement. His athleticism was only going to hold him so long. The thing is, no team had yet shown they could play against the Kings system to exploit Quick's obvious over playing of angles.

So what is San Jose doing? Looked to me that at least three of the goals in game one were tuck ins behind Quick out of position. How is San Jose making it happen where others could not?

It's easy to trash Jonathan Quick when he gives up 7 goals but when you have Matt Greene, Robyn Regehr and Willie Mitchell on your defense, three guys who have lost steps, it's easy to see why a game like this went out of hand - so STFU to everyone talking trash about him, he's still the best goalie in the league - he was the main reason the Kings won the cup that year and he's still as good as anyone - I'm sure most people on this board would rather have him than their current goalie

Calling a guy a slightly above-average goalie in the best league in the world is "trashing" him now? Jesus Christ, I didn't know the hockey world had become so sensitive.

The Kings gave up an average of 26.2 shots per game this year. For comparison, the "we can't even score 2 goals per game" Sabres took an average of 26.3 shots per game. Personally I wouldn't mind having guys who have "lost steps" if it led to those kinds of results.

He's not the best goalie in the league. He's not "still as good as anyone". The main question for a goalie is "does he stop the puck?". Quick is generally consistent, which is a good thing. He's been fairly durable, which is also a good thing. But the question remains: if he is "the best goalie in the league", why do so many other goalies stop the puck more often than he does?

I dont think fans of either team expected two blowout games. No one expected the Kings and Quick to play/ lose like this. I would agree that many thought the home team would win most of their games. If anyone said that they knew the Sharks would score 13 goals in two games I would laugh at them. These are two very good teams (most of the time). I expected 2-1 games with one blowout maybe. Kings have dug a hole but it has been only two games. True the sharks have scored enough for 4 or 5 wins. I am hoping the Kings can win at home twice and not be laughed off the ice

Quick, asked to name the Kings' problems: "I've got things to do this afternoon. I don’t want to get into all of them."

Joe Thornton is beating guys to the puck and winning puck battles along the boards - What the heck?

I like watching this series. Guaranteed fights after every whistle. It appeals to the barbarian in me.
