Well, fuck it
I'm not sure if it was a double minor for spearing or if he got two for roughing and two for spearing? Either way I think it should have just been two but it doesn't really matter at this point.
Did he just get Lucic'd?
Case in fucking point, that was a takedown.
At the time it was 5-2 I didn't want the Sharks to let up. They did that in game one and let the Kings get some momentum and get back into it. Let's be honest, whether 7-2 or 3-2 the Kings are going to come out with their hair on fire for game 3 in LA.
Edit: After they got number 7, I just wanted to see them kill the clock.
And with ten minutes left, up three, I agree. That's an unlikely but not unheard of comeback. Up five with four to play and three minutes of power play? Start playing catch in your own zone, I say.
When he gets great play in front of him and only has to face 15 shots, everyone talks about what a great goalie he is and doesn't seem to realize the part that his teammates played. When he doesn't get great play in front of him (and let it be noted that even tonight the Kings still had the Corsi advantage 5 vs 5 close) and gets lit up like a fucking Christmas tree, everyone still talks about what a great goalie he is and blames his teammates for the part they played. I mean, I live in Fairfield county so I understand why no one here sees him for what he really is, but I don't understand why everyone else can't see it. He's not a bad goalie, he's just not an elite one... he's a slightly above-average goalie on a team that often doesn't need him to be much more than that.
If it wasn't for him two years ago they don't win the cup, he was dominant
The Kings played like garbage in front of him tonight
Sure, but I'm not sure what this has to do with whether or not he should be considered a top goalie (especially now that it's two years later). You could say the exact same thing about Cam Ward and the Canes' Cup win, but that fact alone doesn't make him an elite goalie (and didn't make him one at the time). Hell, the guy right across from Quick in the San Jose net has a higher career SV% and a Stanley Cup ring of his own and no one thinks he's anything special.
